US not inviting Israeli officials to economic workshop in Bahrain

The White House is hosting a workshop in Bahrain next week to launch the economic components of the administration’s Middle East peace plan but Palestinians are boycotting it and Israeli officials haven’t been invited, according to a report on Monday.

The Trump administration has decided not to invite Israeli Minister of Finance Moshe Kahlon or other government officials to the conference on June 25, Axios reported.

Palestinians have said they won’t participate in the workshop to show their opposition to the so-called “Deal of the Century” — the peace plan being developed by White House adviser Jared Kushner.

Israeli officials told the website they had expected to get an invite after other Arab countries said they would take part but one wasn’t offered.
