Trump Says Ex-US President Told Him He Wished He Had Bombed Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump said Monday that a former president told him he regretted not taking action against Iranwhile in office, though Trump did not specify which one. “I’ve spoken to a certain president, who I like, actually—a past president, former president,” Trump said at the White House. “He said, ‘I wish I did it. I wish I did.’ But they didn’t do it. I’m doing it.”

When asked to name the former president, Trump said he did not want to “embarrass him,” adding, “It would be very bad for his career, even though he’s got no career.”
