Hezbollah leader expects another war with Israel soon

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah warned Monday that another war between his organization and Israel may take place in the near future, saying, “The nations in the region must prepare to make sacrifices in any future conflict with Israel.”

In an interview with the Syrian television station al-Ikhbariya, Nasrallah said Israel and the United States had conspired to launch the 2006 Second Lebanon War, claiming the campaign had nothing to do with the July abduction of Israeli soldiers Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev by Hezbollah fighters.

The Shiite terrorist group’s leader also addressed Hezbollah operations against Israel in Syria and Lebanon, as well as the January incident in which Jihad Mughniyeh, son of late Hezbollah operations chief Imad Mughniyeh, and several Iranian officials were killed.

“We chose to respond from Lebanon, because new rules of engagement have been created,” Nasrallah said. “We hit Israel just as hard as it hit us. The response from Lebanon had strategic importance.”
