AZ lawmakers approve ‘Real ID’ bill

You could soon have to buy a new Arizona driver’s license even if your current one doesn’t expire for years.

 

On the last day of the legislative session, state lawmakers approved a bill that could lead to longer lines at MVD offices.

 

The licenses issued today will keep you legal on the road, but if you want to fly, you could hit turbulence as early as January. That’s when the Department of Homeland Security is expected to add airports to its “Real ID” enforcement.
