The Day of the Lord – 12/8/2024
Dave Robbins: “The day of the Lord will come as a thief
in the night.
Therefore, be ye also ready for in such an hour as you think not
the Son of Man cometh.”
We’re gonna analyze the Second Coming of Jesus on this edition
of “The Endtime Show.”
♪♪♪
Dave: Good afternoon, everybody.
I’m Dave Robbins with Endtime Ministries.
And I do thank you for joining me on this edition of “The
Endtime Show.”
The entirety of the Bible centers around two main events:
the First and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ to the earth.
At his First Coming, Jesus came to purchase a plan of salvation
which would allow human beings to spend eternity with him
as immortals.
And this was accomplished at Calvary when Jesus died, was
buried, and rose again.
The redemption plan is called being born again.
For a detailed explanation of the salvation plan, please call
1-800-ENDTIME, 1-800-363-8463.
Or visit endtime.com/reborn.
Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3:3 that anyone who was not born
again would not make it to heaven.
He said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Nicodemus, Except
a man is born again, he cannot even see the kingdom of God.”
At his Second Coming, Jesus will return to the earth to take
those individuals who have been born again, to be with him and
they will then reign as kings and priests with him in his
kingdom for 1000 years.
Then we’ll have the Great White Throne Judgment and we go off
into our eternal existence.
Now, most people do acknowledge that Jesus did come 2000
years ago.
It’s history, folks.
Many have a decent grasp of the events that occurred during his
life while he was here on earth.
However, having ministered at Endtime Ministries for 20 years,
I have found that the opposite is true when it comes to the
Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
Some people believe it’s a myth.
Opinions range far and wide concerning many aspects of this
future event.
And even though the Second Coming is foretold many places
throughout the Bible, some have even questioned whether it will
occur at all.
There’s a lot of false narratives that go along with
this, that people teach.
And it’s like, “Well, how did you come up with that scenario?”
And then there are also people that the Second Coming of Jesus
Christ is not even on their radar.
They don’t pay any attention to it, not worried about it.
I’m doing my own thing.
I don’t want God in my life.
But the fact of the matter is I told our staff this morning in
our prayer and devotion time upstairs that every single
person, there are hundreds and hundreds of thousands of cars
that drive by on the North loop around Dallas called George Bush
every day.
And I told them, I said, there’ll come a day when every
single person driving up and down George Bush, every single
person on the planet that has ever lived or ever will live
will face Jesus Christ.
They’re gonna stare him right in the face.
And the Bible says, “When he comes,” Revelation chapter 1,
verse 7, “every eye will behold him.”
Nobody’s going to be able to escape.
The Bible says at that time that there will be men that will tell
the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face
of him that sits on the throne.”
But there will be no hiding on that day.
So my job, our job here at Endtime Ministries, is to put
the kingdom of God, the soon return of Jesus Christ,
on your radar.
If it’s not there, we wanna put it there.
Because everybody–everybody listening to me will face this
soon return of Jesus Christ and you’re either gonna be ready or
you’re not.
There’s no gray area here.
So I want to make sure that we put it on your radar, you know
what’s going on.
You know it’s gonna come.
The Bible says in the last days that there will be scoffers.
“Oh, I’ve heard about that Second Coming since the
beginning of time and it hasn’t happened yet.
So things are like they’ve always been.”
The Bible says it’s gonna be like that.
But yeah, no, don’t get caught in that trap of the enemy.
We know the Second Coming of Jesus Christ is going to happen.
There’s not one-tenth of 1% chance that it won’t happen.
It’s prophesied in scripture and it’s prophesied about, did you
know the angels prophesied about it even?
In Acts chapter 1, Jesus was getting ready to ascend
into heaven.
He had just been crucified.
He spent 3 days and 3 nights in the grave.
He rises from the dead and for 40 days, he shows himself alive.
He’s appearing to many people at different times.
At one time, he appeared to a crowd of 500 people, so it
provided infallible proof that he had indeed risen
from the dead.
After those 40 days, Jesus led his disciples out to the Mount
of Olives to give them his final instructions.
He talks about them–to them about the things of the kingdom
of God, and he’s giving them some different things.
I mean, these are his last words before he goes into
heaven, right?
And he told them, You’re not going to go out on your
missionary journeys.
You go in Jerusalem and you stay there until you become endued
with power from on high.
He told them, he said, “I’m with you now, but I will send
a comforter.
I will come unto you.”
And many of these men were from Galilee, which was about 90 to
100 miles north of there.
So they could have gone home.
But he wanted them to go just into Jerusalem, right across the
Kidron Valley, right into Jerusalem.
Because while they were there, he was going to empower them and
baptize them with the power of the Holy Ghost.
And he tells them when you’re– when you’re endued with this
power from on high, you’ll be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem,
Judea, Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the world.
He says, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost
is come upon you: and then you’re going to be witnesses
unto me in the–all around,” right?
And that’s Acts chapter 1, verse 8.
After giving the final instructions,
he lifts his hands, blesses them, and then he
suddenly ascends into heaven.
Now, while the disciples, they’re standing there, imagine
what you would have done if you’d seen your pastor or
somebody, a great teacher, just go up into heaven.
Well, they stood there staring, watching him go.
They were staring up into the sky.
But then there were two men with white apparel that stood by them
and they said these words: “Ye men of Galilee, why stand you
gazing up into the heaven?
The same Jesus which was taken up from you into heaven, he’s
gonna come again just as it was when he did it in that like
manner, as you have seen him go into heaven.”
That’s Acts chapter 1, verse 11.
So this was the promise from the angels that Jesus would return
to the earth.
The disciples, they had no idea that it would be 2000 years in
the future that that promise would be fulfilled.
And though it still has not happened, and it’s already been
close to 2000 years since the prophecy was given,
it will happen.
The promise of Jesus, his return, is firm.
He is going to come again and not in the too
near-distant future.
So it is imperative for us to understand that the Second
Coming will not be like the First Coming.
Jesus knew as the time for his return drew closer, people would
claim to be the Messiah and the Second Coming of Jesus.
And it’s really a pretty frequent occurrence.
Sun Myung Moon and Jim Jones, many people have claimed to be
the Messiah, right?
And to keep us from being deceived by these false claims,
we’ve been given specific instructions about what the
Second Coming of Jesus would look like.
Matthew chapter 24 is a perfect example of that.
And this time, in the one–when he comes back at a second–in
the Second Coming, it’s you know, it’s not going to be
a baby born in a stable and found lying in a manger.
It’s not gonna be anything like that.
Jesus will not slip in through the back door of the world and
show up mysteriously.
The Bible says: “Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is
Christ, or there”; Jesus said, “don’t believe them.
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and
shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it
were possible, they would deceive the very elect.
Behold, I have told you before.
Wherefore if you–if they say unto you, Behold, he’s in the
desert, don’t go: behold, he’s in the secret chambers; don’t
even believe them.
Don’t pay any attention to them.”
That’s in Matthew 24, the Olivet Discourse.
Well, why are we not to believe that?
Well, in Matthew, he tells us: “For as–” This is the way the
Second Coming is going to be.
“For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth unto
the west; that’s what it’s going to be like when the Son of
man comes.”
So Jesus instructed his disciples, don’t pay any
attention to those that say the Messiah is here or there.
You saw him on a fence post or I saw the face of Jesus in
the sky.
A lot of people rush to see that.
Jesus said, “Don’t do that.”
Many believe the Muslim Messiah is coming, and he’s called the
12th Imam or the Mahdi.
Jesus said, “Ah, don’t pay any attention to those claims.
It’s all false.”
When Jesus returns, there’s gonna–it’s gonna be like
lightning flashing from the east to the west.
He’s gonna come in the clouds of heaven.
It’s gonna be the most dramatic event you’ve ever seen and he’s
gonna show up in the skies of heaven.
And the Bible says, Revelation 1:7: “Every eye will
behold him.”
There’s not gonna be any mistaking this event.
It’s not gonna be a hologram.
It’s not gonna be anything like that.
male: The Roman Government controlled the world.
So many people were looking for a different Messiah,
a rescuing Messiah.
♪♪♪
Remember the story of the woman at the well.
“The woman saith unto him, I know that Messiah cometh, which
is called Christ.
And Jesus said unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.”
Jesus very clearly stated that he was God and that he was
the Messiah.
We’re even more blessed because we haven’t seen those things,
but yet we believe.
When Jesus cried out, “My God, my God, why hast thou
forsaken me?”
he knew every one of these prophecies had to be fulfilled.
He said, “It is finished.”

Dave: So, there are a lot of false narratives and “this is
gonna happen,” “No, not, no, it’s not that, it’s this,” and
the thing is I just want to go by the Bible.
That’s it.
I’m not going by early church fathers and commentaries and
dictionaries and encyclopedias and all that.
And everybody’s opinion.
What does the Bible say?
That’s what we’re going with.
So let’s talk about the Rapture and the last trump because
there’s so much–you know, they’re different events and all
this other and I just want you to understand it from the
biblical perspective.
This is not even Dave Robbins’ opinion.
This is all scripture.
So the Rapture and the last trump.
Jesus said, and this will be in Matthew 24 starting with verse
29: “Immediately after the tribulation of those days.”
Now, let’s pause right here.
Did Jesus say, “Immediately before the tribulation”?
No.
Did he say, “Halfway through the tribulation”?
No.
Did he say, “Two thousand years before the end-time Great
Tribulation in 70 AD”?
No, he didn’t.
He said–he’s telling–they ask him in Olivet Discourse in
the beginning, “What’s gonna be the sign of your Coming and of
the end of this age?”
And Jesus said in Matthew 24:29, “Immediately after the
tribulation of those days.”
He just talked about the Great Tribulation in Matthew 24:21.
Now, here he is, what, seven or eight verses later in 29, and he
says: “Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the
sun will be darkened, moon shall not give her light, stars shall
fall from heaven, the powers of heaven shall be shaken: And then
shall all the tribe–and then shall appear the Son, the sign
of the Son of man coming in heaven: and then shall all the
tribes of the earth mourn, they shall see the Son of man coming
in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
And he will send his angels.”
This is the Rapture.
“He’s gonna send his angels with the great sound of a trumpet,
and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds,
from one end of heaven to the other.”
That happens one time in the near future, folks.
It doesn’t happen 2, 3, 25 times.
It happens once.
And Jesus said it would–that would occur immediately after
the tribulation of those days.
If he said before the tribulation, we’d have an
entirely different conversation today.
But Jesus said, “I’m coming back and I’m going to send my angels
to gather the elect.”
It’s the same thing as the parable of the wheat and the
tares, the simultaneous harvest in Revelation chapter 14.
“I’m coming back and sending my angels with the sound of the
last trump to gather my elect unto me.”
At the Second Coming of Jesus, every eye is going to see him
and he will send his angels with the sound of that trumpet to
gather the elect.
Matthew goes on to say, “Two are gonna be in a field; one taken,
the other left.”
Now this is what Jesus was teaching.
Matthew recorded it.
Imagine what it will be like working alongside someone,
riding beside them, or just talking to someone over a cup of
coffee, and all of a sudden they’re changed from mortal to
immortal and they start going up into the sky.
These–the people in these verses are depicted as
participating in activities that were common for their time
and place.
One’s working in a field, one’s laying in bed with another one.
But it’s used in his example to explain that the people will be
living our daily lives doing normal things when
Jesus returns.
In Luke’s account, I think– it’s verse 34.
He said, “I tell you, in that night there shall be two in the
bed; one’s gonna be taken, the other left.”
It’s gonna be like that.
No gray areas.
God’s not set–Jesus isn’t set there on the throne going, “Hm,
let me see, who should I rapture and who shouldn’t?”
Uh-uh, he knows when the trumpet sounds, the Bible says if the
same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you,
your body will be changed from mortal to immortal and you’ll be
caught up to meet him in the air.
So I’d better have the Holy Ghost, right?
I’d better have been born again, repented, be baptized in Jesus’s
name, be filled with the Holy Ghost.
I gotta be born again or, when the trumpet sounds, that spirit
in me will not quicken my body to become an immortal and I
won’t be caught up to meet him in the air.
This is of utmost importance.
So it will be a marvelous time for those who are taken.
But it’s gonna be the absolute worst day of a person’s life for
those left behind, especially those who have been told the
gospel but had not obeyed, and rejected it.
The apostle Paul, he thought the Rapture would occur at the
sounding of the trump of God.
He said, “But I would not, brethren, that you be ignorant
concerning them which are asleep,” or those that have
passed on, “that ye sorrow not, even as others which have
no hope.”
This is in 1 Thessalonians 4. But the people often refers to–
I’m sorry.
The Bible often refers to people who were saved and then passed
on as being asleep because, for believers, death is considered,
it’s temporary.
And Paul continues and he says: “For if we believe that Jesus
died and rose again, even so them which sleep in Jesus,”
the Bible says, “God will bring with him.”
So Paul was saying that those who believe Jesus died and rose
again, who die in Jesus, have the Spirit of Jesus, that they
will be brought forth from the grave like Jesus was.
And then Paul says, “For this we say unto you by the word of the
Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of
the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with
a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and the trump
of God.”
Remember when Jesus gave the account in Matthew chapter 24.
He said, “I will come and, with the sound of a trumpet, I will
send my angels to gather the elect.”
This is the exact same thing.
The trump of God.
That’s 1 Thessalonians 4, verse 15 and 16.
The Second Coming of Jesus will be a–the most–the most
dramatic event, right?
I mean, in verse 16, it says: “And the dead in Christ shall
rise first.”
Those that are gonna come out of the grave, they’re going.
“Then we which are alive and remain will be caught up
together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the
air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
So once the dead in Christ have come out of the grave,
Christians who are alive on the earth at the time of the Second
Coming that did not bow the knee to the Antichrist, did not take
the mark of the beast, they will rise together with them to meet
the Lord in the air.
And then Paul goes, he explains further.
He says, “Behold, I show you a mystery,” or a secret.
He said, “We shall not all sleep,” not all people are going
to die.
The Bible says, “It Is appointed unto man once to die,” but
that’s speaking in generalities about the human race,
by and large.
But there will be people that won’t die.
Just a few that–the ones that are left right there at the
very end.
So people who serve Jesus, they–there will be some that
are alive when Jesus returns and then Paul says, “But we shall
all be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye at the
last trump.”
The last trump, the trump of God, and the trump in–that the
Lord comes and sends his angels to gather the elect in Matthew
chapter 24, it’s all the same thing, the same trump.
The seventh trump in Revelation chapter 11, it’s all the
same thing.
Many teach that those who serve the Lord will simply disappear
at the last trump.
But the Bible does not say that.
It says: “We shall be changed in a moment in the twinkling of
an eye from mortal to immortal.”
Verse 52, it says: “For the trumpet shall sound, and the
dead shall be raised incorruptible,” which means the
dead will be given immortal bodies, “and we that are alive
and remain shall be changed from mortal to immortal.”
Paul goes on to say, For this corruptible flesh, that’s gonna
put on incorruption, this mortal is gonna put on immortality.
Now, we’re over in 1 Corinthians.
That’d be 1 Corinthians 15, down to about 53.
The Latin word “morto,” M-O-R-T-O, morto, means to die.
So to be mortal means to have– to be able to die.
This mortal body which can die, that’s gonna put on immortality,
a new body that cannot die.
And then Paul says, “Then shall be brought to pass the saying
that is written, ‘O Death.
Death is swallowed up in victory.'”
And that’s 1 Corinthians 15:54.
So when the last trumpet sounds, the bodies of those still alive
will be changed in a moment from mortal to immortal.
We–then we’re gonna be caught up in the air.
Our feet are gonna leave the ground just like Jesus’s feet
left the ground in Acts chapter 1.
Those dead in Christ will rise,
then those which are alive will go up together with the
dead to meet the Lord in the air.
“Death is swallowed up in victory.
O death, where is thy sting?
O grave, where is thy victory?”
My father-in-law and millions that have gone before us who
were saved individuals, they’re gonna be caught up out of
that grave.
I’ll get to see my father-in-law again.
I’ll get to see his mom and dad again.
I’ll get to see many of my loved ones and many people that
Endtime Ministries helped to get saved along the way, and you’ll
get to see your loved ones and what a–it’s gonna be the best
day we’ve ever experienced and it’s gonna be the beginning of
our eternal existence.
Now that we will be here on earth for the 1000-year
millennial reign, but still, you’ve made it at that point.
If you’re caught up in the Rapture, you won’t even stand
before God at the Great White Throne Judgment.
Your judgment occurs at the time of the Rapture.
Then we come to the revealing of Jesus Christ.
Now, really, one of the main things I wanted to talk to you
about today is Jesus Christ.
There are so many people today, all the world government, the
World Health Organization, World Trade Organization, the
International Criminal Court.
All of that stuff is humanitarian.
They never mention God.
They certainly don’t mention Jesus Christ, because they don’t
want anybody to rely on anything, a deity, anything,
other than they want–in times of crisis, they want you to look
to the world government.
But my job as a Christian minister is to put Jesus Christ
and his soon coming kingdom on your radar.
Make sure that when you get up in the morning, you talk
to Jesus.
Before you go to bed at night, you’re talking to Jesus.
He’s in–he’s got to be the number one thing in your life.
He can’t even be a close second because he might as well
be last.
Jesus Christ and his coming kingdom has to be the most
important thing in your life.
When you get that right, and everything else in your life
revolves around Jesus, everything just starts to smooth
out and no matter what happens, times of crisis, whatever, it’s
all right, I can make it through it because my life is centered
around Jesus Christ, okay?
And then you don’t have to be– a lot of people have
Rapture anxiety.
You don’t have to worry about that because I know where I’m
going when he returns.
My feet are gonna leave the ground and I will see Jesus
face to face.
Oh, what a day that will be.
