Israel, the Church, and the End of the Age: What Prophecy Really Reveals

Male announcer: Previously on “The Endtime Show.”
Dave Robbins: The dead in Christ and those who are alive will
be–go with him to fight on behalf of Israel
at the Battle of Armageddon.
The Bible says in the book of Jude that he comes with ten
thousands of his saints.
That is the event.
If you can get that picture in your mind, it will really help
you, number one, to get it yourself and then to explain it
to others that the Rapture, the Marriage Supper of the Lamb in
the sky, and the Second Coming is one continuous event
that occurs.
It’s not two events that are separated by seven years, okay?

Dave: We’ve had some people, you know–some callers call in
and some different people emailing lately that were saying
the Bible is just an allegorical book.
It’s full of just allegories and different things that are just
spiritual realities and you can’t come to a–you can’t
settle on some things that are gonna be physical events,
physical kingdoms, and physical kings and different things in
the end times and the–what the beast represent, but we
absolutely can understand this.
And so because of that belief system that it’s all
allegorical, some people have said, “Well, there’s not
a Rapture, there’s not a Great Tribulation.
You can’t really–you know, there’s not these physical
events that we always talk about.
Those aren’t really gonna happen.”
And so I’m speaking to that today and I’m continuing to
define the Rapture.
Matthew chapter 24, verse 30 through 31, the Bible–Jesus
said, “And then shall appear the sign of the–of man–the Son of
Man in heaven, then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn.
They shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven
with power and great glory, and he shall send his angels with
the sound of a great trumpet and they shall gather together his
elect,” this will be the church, “from the four winds, from one
end of heaven to the other.”
So the Rapture, a physical event, is the moment when the
Lord returns in the clouds to– sends his angels accompanied by
the sound of a mighty trumpet to gather his saints to himself,
and at that very instant, believers will be transformed
from mortal to immortal, the inability to die, and from that
point forward, we will be with the Lord forever.
And so this is a physical event.
It’s coming in the very near future, and I’ve got to be
prepared for that event.
I’ve got to be born again.
Jesus told Nicodemus that except a man was born again, he
couldn’t enter or see the kingdom of God.
“Marvel not that I say unto you, Nicodemus, you must be
born again.”
And that’s how you prepare yourself for the Rapture that
will happen in the very near future.
Physical, okay?
Now, there’s a lot of spiritual realities in the Bible, I get
it, but I’m talking about this physical–physical events
that will happen in the near future.
We can’t discount all of this symbolism leading to a physical
event in the near future.
Now, some people have said because of this that there’s no
Rapture but also that there’s no Great Tribulation.
So in the allegorical or the spiritual view to this, they
would say refers to the ongoing trials and persecution faced by
believers in all ages.
And so they say there’s not a physical time of the greatest
time of tribulation in the world would ever know like Jesus talk
about in Matthew 24.
They discount all of that.
So a literal view, though, would be a defined period of
catastrophic global suffering, the worst time of persecution
the world has ever known or ever will know.
So what I thought I would do is to give a precise definition
scripturally of the Great Tribulation, and I just think
it’s essential, you know, as these–some misinterpretations
of this concept, they frequently lead to significant theological
confusion and conflicting interpretations of Scripture.
And let’s face it, there’s a lot of
stuff flying around the internet.
All you gotta do is get on there for five minutes and your head’s
swimming like, “What in the world?”
But listen to me, always go back to the Word of God
because God is not the author of confusion.
If you just read down through there and study, then he can
show you, and it’s very simple.
I mean, that’s what I do.
I read and I’m like, “God, you got to help me with this.”
And–but when you start studying it for a while and start tying
all the pieces together and listen to good reputable
programming, it can really help you out, right?
Because my father-in-law, Irvin Baxter, did this for over 50
years, and God took him through these things and he just–he
taught it all over the world.
And I’m so thankful for that, that we have his shoulders to
stand on, right, because God led him through all of this ’cause
he wanted the end–he didn’t want the end-time church to
be blindfolded.
So the original Greek word for tribulation is thlipsis.
It’s from Strong’s G–I think it’s 2437.
Twenty–I think it’s 2347.
It means pressure, affliction, anguish, burdened, or
persecution, tribulation, and trouble.
So both David–both Daniel and Jesus and John foretold the
worst time of persecution the world would ever experience.
In Daniel 12, verse 1 through 2 it says, “And at that time shall
Michael stand up–” now, this is talked about in Revelation 12
as well.
“But shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for
the children of thy people, and there shall be a time of trouble
such as was–never was since the–since there was a nation,
even to that same time.
And at that time, thy people shall be delivered, everyone
that shall be found written in the book; and many of them shall
sleep in the dust of the earth, but they shall awake, some to
everlasting life and some to everlasting contempt.”
That’s talking about the Great White Throne Judgment.
So Michael, an archangel, he’s gonna stand up at the end.
The Bible calls him the prince of Daniel’s people, the Jews.
Historically, Michael has been the defender of the
Jewish people.
That’s Daniel 10:13.
So this passage explains that there will be a time of trouble
such as never was before nor ever again shall be, and this
refers to the Great Tribulation which last for 3 1/2 years.
Every time that the Bible talks about the Great Tribulation,
it’s only 3 1/2 years long.
There is a final seven-year period, but the Great
Tribulation starts halfway through that and lasts
for 3 1/2 years.
And so, you know, we’ll–I’ll maybe get to some of those
Scriptures if I have time here today.
So Jesus himself said in Matthew 24:15-21, “When you therefore
shall see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel
the prophet, stand in the holy place.”
And he says this: “Whoso readeth, let him understand.”
It’s not that you can’t come to a sound
biblical belief on these things.
Jesus said whoso’s reading this, let him understand
these things.
He didn’t hide it in some mystery that nobody could
ever understand.
He wanted those that were seeking and really wanting to
know, you’re gonna–he was saying, “Look, you’re gonna be
able to understand this.”
He said, “Then which be in Judea flee into the mountains.
Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take anything
out of his house, neither let him which is in the field return
back to take his clothes.
And woe to them that are with child and to them that give suck
in those days.
But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither
on the Sabbath day.”
And then he said this. This is verse 21.
“For then shall be great tribulation,” the worst time of
persecution, “such as was not since the beginning of the world
to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”
So Jesus is talking about a physical time of persecution,
the worst one that the world will ever know.
And then Daniel 9:27, of course, it teaches the abomination of
desolation when the Antichrist stands in a third temple
declaring himself to be God.
That takes place in the middle of that final seven-year period
immediately preceding the Second Coming and the Battle
of Armageddon.
So according to Jesus, the abomination of desolation marks
the beginning of that Great Tribulation, which of course,
again, the most intense unparalleled time of persecution
the world will ever endure, occurring precisely halfway
through the final seven years and lasting for that final 3
1/2-year period.
And then finally when we talk about the physical event of the
Great Tribulation, Revelation chapter 12, it tells us that
Michael and his angels, they will rise
up against Satan again.
Now, this is talked about in Daniel 12, verse 1.
And Satan and his forces–this is the war in heaven.
The dragon, that old serpent called the devil will be
defeated and cast down to the earth.
Well, he’s banished from heaven.
Satan, the Bible says, will unleash his fury on the earth.
The Bible says rejoice you there in heaven, but woe to the
inhabitors of the earth because Satan comes down unto you having
great wrath because he knows that he hath but a short
time left.
And so the Great Tribulation is not the wrath of God; it’s the
wrath of Satan, and he will target humanity and, above all,
the people of Israel and those that have the testimony of Jesus
Christ, which is the church.
But Scripture says the woman, which remember, represents
Israel, will be given two wings of a great eagle, the United
States of America, that she might fly into her place of
safety for a time, time, and half a time.
Where’s Israel’s place?
It’s not Petra, but it’s the Promised Land.
Zechariah 14 tells us that as well.
So–and, of course, you know that from just–it’s all across
the Bible, if you know anything about the Bible at all.
But the Promised Land itself–and that’s the land that
God gave to Abraham and, you know–and to his seed forever
through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and that lineage.
And who is the–who’s the eagle?
Of course, that–that’s the United States of America.
So during this same period, the Antichrist will rise, ruling for
42 months.
He will make war against the saints.
He’s gonna be doing the bidding of Satan.
In Revelation 13, it says the dragon or Satan gives him this
entity, that world government, and the Antichrist did seek
power and great authority.
So the Antichrist is gonna make war against the saints.
And while many will compromise, true Christians will hold fast
to Jesus Christ and refuse the false–to worship the false
Antichrist, the world government, and the false
one-world religion, and the false prophet.
True Christians will not take part in any of that.
I can’t worship anybody but God Almighty, right?
I’m not gonna worship any man.
My hope and faith and trust and my worship goes to Jesus Christ
and him alone.
So Satan will attempt to destroy Israel.
He’s gonna unleash multitudes of nations like a flood, and yet
God declares that he will fight for Jerusalem when all nations
gather against it at Armageddon.
This is Zechariah chapter 14.
And Revelation 12 closes with a sobering truth that the dragon
will make war against the Jewish people and true Christians who
keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of
Jesus Christ.
So, there’s a storm coming.
And why not warn the church about it?
Why not prepare people for what’s coming?
Hey, you know, we’ve got to win as many people as we can.
This ignites me for revival.
I’m a soul-winner, I’m a revivalist,
I’m an evangelist, and I’m saying, look, man, there’s
stuff–there’s some stuff coming our way and I’m gonna win as
many souls as I can, and I’m gonna keep doing that until I
stare the Lord right in the face.
Whether I go by way of the grave or whether I make it to the
Rapture, I’m gonna win souls.
That’s our job.
And so yes, there’s a storm coming and we don’t shy away
from talking about that.
And there’s also another Jewish Holocaust that’s foretold, but
places of safety remain for those who heed the warning.
I’m gonna prepare myself for the Lord.
So I don’t have to worry about going by the way of the
grave or any of these things.
I’m not gonna fear death.
I’m gonna trust the Lord, I’m gonna hold to him, and I’m gonna
make it.
This is a promise from God.
He that endures to the end, the same shall be saved.
Look at all of–the Christians have suffered trials and
tribulations, persecution all the way back from the beginning,
and yet today, some people wanna say, “Well, you know, I don’t
think that’s gonna happen.
You know, we’re just gonna slide out of here on a cloud.”
Well, I don’t think so.
And so I want to be prepared mentally and physically for the
time just ahead and spiritually for eternity because now I have
a hope, and without God there’s no hope.
But we don’t teach prophecy to scare people, I’m teaching us
hope, faith, and love and Jesus Christ because as saints of God
the endurance is gonna be required.
I know that.
But take courage because Christ is coming and his victory
is sure.
You can have an assurance that, “Hey, I’m born again.
I’m living as a Christian. I’m doing the best I can.
God’s got his hands upon me.
I’m anointed. I’m winning souls.
I’m doing the best I can to live for him.”
And the Bible says he that endures to the end, you’re gonna
make it, it’s a promise from God.
And when God gives you a promise, man, you can bank your
eternal salvation on that.
And so that’s where we’re at today.
These things are coming, but I’m telling you God is right here
with us every step of the way.
“I will never leave you. I will never forsake you.”
And so that’s my hope, is Jesus Christ.
He’s right here with me today.
The Bible says he encampeth his angels about them that fear him.
And so I know he’s here with me today.

Dave: And a lot of people have talked about, well, you know, we
need to reach the Jews and things like that and–but some
people have said, “Oh, no, the Jewish age has already ended and
it’s called replacement theology or supersessionism, and I wanted
to talk about that today because replacement theology argues that
the destruction of–the Jewish temple in 70 AD by the
Roman army, that it actually serves as proof that God turned
his back on Israel for rejecting their Messiah and replaced their
role in his plan with the church.
And so I wanna speak to that today because I wanna make sure
we’ve got all kind of–got our mind right on what’s happening
here in the end time because everything’s going to culminate
right there in Israel, I hope you understand that.
So I wanna go first to–let’s go to Galatians 6:16.
Now, that serves as a proof text.
As the apostle Paul mentioned, the Israel of God purportedly
proves that the Old Testament Israel has now been replaced
by–some people say by the non-Jewish believers who
constitute a new Israel for the New Testament.
So I wanna speak to this.
Therefore, they say, the replacement theology narrative
asserts that the modern-day nation of Israel has no place in
God’s plans for the future and that the people of Israel were
never intended to be the subject anyway in any New
Testament references.
And so I scratch my head on this one, but let’s see if I can get
through this, okay, because this is very, very, very important to
me because I have Jew–I have many Jewish friends today that
have been born again.
And so it kind of blows this narrative out of the water, but
let me just speak to it.
So the question is, is the modern nation of Israel truly
the–one of the questions we need to ask, is the modern-day
nation of Israel truly the home of God’s chosen people?
Well, Scripture–this is what we’re always gonna go back to
more than the history books, I’m going to Scripture,
It leaves no doubt.
Moses declared in Deuteronomy chapter 7, verse 6 that the
descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Jacob’s name was
changed to Israel, that they were chosen by the Lord to be a
holy people set apart above all others.
Now, a lot of people like to take God out of the equation.
Satan definitely is trying to drive God out of society, to
drive God out of everything, to where people don’t even consider
the Bible anymore.
But beyond any history book, any self-help book, any early church
fathers–beyond any of that, go to the Bible, folks.
Remember, Almighty God, this is his Word.
And so all I’ve got to do is to go
back to the Bible for the answers.
It trumps any encyclopedia, any history book.
And so, God chose these people and set out a holy people, set
apart above all others, and through them came the Bible and
the Messiah himself.
And so the prophet Ezekiel, he was given–you remember the
vision of a valley of dry bones representing the house of Israel
seemingly dead and hopeless, but as he prophesied, those bones
came together.
They were clothed with flesh, they finally filled with breath,
and they rose up as a mighty army.
And God explained that the vision, plainly, that he would
bring his people back into the land.
He said, “Ezekiel, this is the whole house of Israel.”
Well, of course, that promise just leapt off the pages of
prophecy in reality on May 14th, 1948, when Israel was reborn as
a nation.
Like I said before, it’s one of the most recognizable
prophecies–modern-day prophecies in the Bible.
Today the Israeli Defense Forces stand as a living witness to
Ezekiel’s prophecy, an exceeding great army that testifies to
God’s Word is true.
Israel’s rebirth, it’s just not some kind of a coincidence.
Those people didn’t end up there accidentally.
It is the fulfillment of a divine promise and proof that
God’s plan is still unfolding right before our very eyes in
physical form, and it–this is very important.
It goes against the allegorical discussion.
These are physical realities.
There is a physical nation over there on the Mediterranean Sea
that is a result of a prophecy given, a valley of dry bones.
Understand the symbolism and the physical reality of that.
So another question, has God turned his back on the physical
descendants of Abraham?
Well, the Word of God declares emphatically that all the
promises of God in him are yea and amen, that’s 2 Corinthians
chapter 1, verse 20, and that the gifts and callings of God
are without repentance.
That’s Romans 11:29.
So he, God, is the same yesterday, today, and forever,
Hebrews chapter 13, verse 8, and yet replacement theology asserts
the promises made to Abraham have been stripped from his
descendants and given to the church.
You say, “Well, man, Dave, I didn’t think about that.”
Well, this is what I’m wanting you to think about.
And so while those accepting this replacement theology
ideology, they may point to judgments poured out by God upon
his people, there is no way to account for the fact that God
always turned back to the apple of his eye once the Hebrews
repented of their sin,
and that’s Deuteronomy 32:10.
It does not say that he turns away from the other people, but
he would–he’s always turned to them, and he’s–he would save
a Jew right now.
He wants to save all of them.
And, of course, the Bible says they’ve been blinded in part and
we can–we’ll go into Romans 11 here in just a minute.
But the same is true for the descendants of Abraham
inhabiting the city of Jerusalem when the Battle of Armageddon
occurs, and the Bible says that they will walk out to meet
their Messiah.
“Messiah, where’d you get those scars in your hands?”
And he’s gonna say, “These are those with which I got in the
house of my friends.”
And the Bible says in Romans 11 all of Israel will be saved at
that point.
They’re gonna be born again because Jesus told Nicodemus,
who was a Pharisee and a religious leader–a Jewish
religious leader, “Marvel not, Nicodemus.
You have to be born again as well.”
So the apostle Paul, he makes it clear in Romans 11 that God has
not rejected Israel.
He himself, being an Israelite, he declared, “God hath not cast
away his people which he foreknew.”
So Paul explains that the Israel–that Israel’s stumbling
opened the door for Gentiles to be saved, and yet this is not
the end of God’s plan for the Jewish people.
Instead, the Gentiles were meant to provoke Israel to jealousy
and lead them back to truth.
And so the Bible foretells that revival will begin in Judah–I
will say the tents of Judah first in Zechariah chapter 12.
And this is why Endtime is so committed to warning the Jews
and preparing the way for the great revival promised
in Revelation chapter 7.
And I know many of you have helped with
that and help us with that on a–on an ongoing basis, and I
thank you so much for that.
But the apostle Paul, he also uses the olive tree analogy;
that the Gentiles are the wild branches grafted into God’s
tree, and Israel represents the natural branches who could be
re-grafted in, and he warns the church not to boast against
Israel because the root supports the branches.
We all need each other, right, not the other way around.
And God is able to graft Israel back in.
And ultimately, Romans 11:25-26, when the fullness of the
Gentiles be come in, all Israel shall be saved.
This is it, the Battle of Armageddon when he plants his
feet up on the Mount of Olives.
So the conclusion here–I hope I’ve done a good job for y’all.
The conclusion is unmistakable.
The church has not replaced Israel.
Instead, believers, both Jews and Gentiles, are called to
prepare for the coming revival.
Revelation chapter 7, John saw a multitude out in heaven that no
man could number out of every people, kindred, tongue,
and nation.
Not just Jews, not just Gentiles.
The end-time church will be a Jewish-Gentile church mixed just
like the early church was a Jewish-Gentile church mixed.
And so just as the–let’s say just as the–well, okay, you
remember the story the–of the prodigal son that was
welcomed–the father of the prodigal son welcomed his
child back, you remember.
The true church must embrace Israel to return to God’s plan.
They’re part of the end-time plan here.
Any doctrine that denies Israel’s place in prophecy is a
distortion of Scripture driven by the enemy to divide the body
of Christ.
So even–some even suggest the church shouldn’t take a position
on end times at all when we talk about some of these
things–now, we’re going back into the allegory situation and
the–you know, the physical realities and–of the church and
Israel and different things.
There’s physical realities here.
The prophet Daniel received some of the greatest prophecies in
Scripture and prophecies sealed by God
until the time of the end.
That’s Daniel 12:9.
Well, Daniel himself, he couldn’t understand these
prophecies, but God reserved their meaning for the generation
that would live through their fulfillment, and that time is
right now.
And so, we are witnessing the most rapid fulfillment of
prophecy in history.
And these revelations, they’re–they aren’t given
because we’re more spiritual but because it is God’s
appointed time.
And so the–because, you know–I mean, Israel wasn’t even brought
back together as a nation until May 14th, 1948, right?
I mean, couple of hundred years ago, nobody would have ever
dreamed that there would be an Israeli nation again, but now
we’ve seen it come to pass, and so–because it’s God’s
appointed time.
The purpose–that’s why a lot of people say, “Well, I question
whether we’re in the end time or not.”
We’re being shown all these prophecies because the–Daniel’s
book was closed and sealed until the
people of the time of the end.
So the purpose to spark one last great end-time revival
and–that’s the purpose to all of this.
Jesus said in John 14:29, “I have told you before it come to
pass, that when it come to pass, you might believe.”
So prophecy builds faith, demonstrating the supernatural
accuracy of God’s Word.
