According to the United Nations Secretary-General, the world is now facing a “moment of peril” over rising tensions between Ukraine and Russia following a Russian invasion of eastern Ukraine.

“We meet in the face of the most serious global peace and security crisis in recent years — and certainly in my time as Secretary-General,” António Guterres told the UN’s General Assembly. “Our world is facing a moment of peril. I truly hoped it would not come.”
