Trump says U.S. to ‘permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries’ after DC shooting

U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday announced sweeping plans to tighten immigration rules, including a suspension on migration from “Third World Countries” and cancellation of all federal benefits and subsidies to “noncitizens” in the country. In a pair of Truth Social posts late Thursday night, Trump said he would “permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the U.S. system to fully recover,” without specifying what would be considered a “third world” country. The term loosely referred to countries with higher poverty rates and economic instability.
