Southern Baptists Elect New President: Critical Race Theory Still a Hot Button Issue

Pastor Ed Litton of Alabama has been elected President of the Southern Baptist Convention. Litton has favored the use of Critical Race Theory in the past, but Resolution 2 was passed on Tuesday with a large majority, which takes the position that CRT is unacceptable. One News Now reports:

That was the other big issue on the table for the gathering in Nashville: Would the SBC cling to CRT as an aid in dealing with racial issues. The messengers on Tuesday voted overwhelmingly for Resolution 2, which affirmed the sufficiency of scripture alone to deal with racial reconciliation.
