Religious Freedom Restoration Act

When the Religious Freedom Restoration Act was passed 30 years ago, it enjoyed widespread support. “People forget that RFRA passed unanimously in the House and 97-3 in the Senate,” said Douglas Laycock, professor of law emeritus at the University of Virginia. But that support is no longer widespread nor bipartisan, according to Roger Severino, vice president of domestic policy at the Heritage Foundation. “Sadly, the American left abandoned religious liberty for LGBT and abortion advocacy without exceptions.”
