Petition for EU to Ban Biometric Surveillance
A coalition consisting of both civil and digital rights groups has put a petition in motion to put pressure on the European Union to ban biometric mass surveillance. E&T reported:
Surveillance tools such as facial recognition systems have raised concerns about risks to privacy and fundamental rights and that they could be exploited by repressive regimes to commit human rights violations.
