King Charles III Makes First Speech

King Charles III met with both houses of the British Parliament in the near-millennia old Westminster Hall before flying to Scotland to attend in the lying in State of Queen Elizabeth II. Charles told the two houses in the hall that the Queen had “pledged herself to serve her country and her people, and to maintain the precious principles of constitutional government”. “She set an example of selfless duty, which with God’s help and your counsels I am resolved faithfully to follow.”
