‘Harmful Content’ Warning on U.S. Constitution
The National Archives Records Administration has placed a “harmful content” warning on the Constitution, Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence, citing that the governing documents of the United States as “harmful or difficult to view.”
NARA says that the materials may reflect outdated, biased, offensive, and possibly violent views and opinions and could “reflect racist, sexist, ableist, misogynistic/misogynoir, and xenophobic opinions and attitudes.
