Florida Urges Supreme Court To Reinstate Drag Queen Law That Bans Shows In Front Of Children

Florida has requested the Supreme Court to reinstate a law preventing minors from attending drag performances. The law, known as Florida’s Protection of Children Act, faced legal challenges and was blocked by a preliminary injunction in June. The law allows fines or license revocation for businesses admitting children to “adult live performances.” Melanie Griffin, Secretary of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, has made an emergency application to Justice Clarence Thomas seeking reinstatement of the law.
