Florida state lawmaker proposes bill to expand ban on teaching students about sexual orientation and gender identity

Adam Anderson has proposed a measure that would expand Florida’s prohibition against teaching some students about sexual orientation and gender identity — another provision in the bill would ban public school workers from sharing their preferred pronouns with students, if those pronouns do not align with their sex.

The measure goes further than a law approved last year that prohibits teaching about sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten through third grade.
