God Does Not Want His Church Walking Through the End Time Blindfolded

Many people claim Bible prophecy cannot be understood until after it has been fulfilled. According to this view, believers must wait for prophetic events to occur, look back and then attempt to identify what the Bible was describing.

Some prophecies may work that way. Certain historical events were difficult to identify until they unfolded. But if every prophecy could be understood only after its fulfillment, why would Jesus repeatedly command His followers to watch?

What would we be watching for if nothing could be recognized in advance?

The truth is that God gave Bible prophecy for a reason. He wants His people to understand the times, recognize the signs and prepare for the events that will precede the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

The Church Is Not in Darkness

The Apostle Paul addressed this directly in 1 Thessalonians 5:1-8. He explained that the Day of the Lord would come as a thief in the night, but he also told believers:

“But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.”

Paul did not say the church would be unable to recognize the approaching Day of the Lord. He said believers are children of light and children of the day.

That is why he instructed the church to remain spiritually awake, watchful and sober.

God’s people are not supposed to sleep through the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Those who seek God, study His Word and remain spiritually alert can understand what Scripture says about the future.

The same principle appears in Revelation 13. After describing the mark of the beast and the number 666, the Bible says:

“Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast.”

Scripture does not tell believers to seek understanding while simultaneously declaring that understanding is impossible.

God wants those living in the end time to understand His prophetic Word and instruct others. This knowledge will help prepare the world for the final great revival before the return of Jesus Christ.

Why Earlier Generations Did Not Understand Everything

Some ask why the apostles and earlier generations did not understand all the prophecies we are discussing today.

The answer is simple: It was not yet time.

The Lord instructed Daniel to close and seal the words of his prophecy “even to the time of the end.” That did not mean the prophecies would remain sealed forever. It meant their full meaning would become clearer when the appointed time arrived.

We are not more intelligent or more spiritual than the apostles. We are simply living closer to the time when these events will be fulfilled.

Prophecies that were difficult for earlier generations to recognize can now be examined alongside the nations, institutions and political developments already present in our world.

The prophetic picture is coming into focus because we are living in the time of the end.

Modern Nations in Bible Prophecy

One of the clearest examples is found in Daniel 7.

Daniel saw four beasts:

• A lion with eagle’s wings
• A bear
• A four-headed leopard
• A ten-horned beast

Daniel 7:17 and 23 explains that these beasts symbolize kingdoms. In modern terminology, they represent nations or political powers.

The chapter also establishes an important time frame. These nations will exist when the Ancient of Days comes to establish His kingdom. This points to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, when the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ.

According to Endtime Ministries’ interpretation, the lion represents Great Britain, whose national symbolism has long included the lion. The eagle’s wings represent the United States, a nation that emerged from Great Britain and adopted the eagle as its national symbol.

Daniel saw the eagle’s wings plucked from the lion. The eagle was then made to stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.

What nation represented by an eagle separated from the world’s most prominent lion nation?

The United States declared its independence from Great Britain in 1776.

This interpretation also connects the bear with Russia, the leopard with Germany and the ten-horned beast with a future European-centered political power.

These are not ancient empires that disappeared thousands of years ago. They are modern nations and political structures that will be present at the time of Christ’s return.

Daniel 2 and Daniel 7 Are Not Identical Visions

Many prophecy teachers interpret the four beasts of Daniel 7 as merely another description of the four ancient empires portrayed in Nebuchadnezzar’s image in Daniel 2.

However, that interpretation overlooks an important distinction.

Daniel 2 describes more than four stages of world government. The image includes:

1. The head of gold
2. The breast and arms of silver
3. The belly and thighs of brass
4. The legs of iron
5. The feet of iron mixed with clay

The feet of iron and clay represent a later political system that exists at the time God establishes His eternal kingdom.

Daniel 2:44 declares:

“And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed.”

The ten toes of Daniel 2 correspond with the ten horns of Daniel 7. Both point toward a final political alliance that will exist immediately before the Second Coming.

The Babylonian, Medo-Persian, Grecian and ancient Roman empires are gone. They do not govern the world today.

The final political structure, however, will combine political and religious authority and will play a central role in the government of the Antichrist.

Understanding this distinction is essential. Without Daniel 7, it becomes difficult to interpret Revelation’s description of the end-time world government, the role of modern nations and the prophetic relationship between the United States and Israel.

The Emerging World Government

Revelation 13 describes a single beast possessing characteristics of the animals Daniel saw separately.

John described a beast with:

• The body of a leopard
• The feet of a bear
• The mouth of a lion
• Ten horns

Daniel saw the nations individually. John saw them combined into one international governing system.

This is a prophetic picture of the world government that will eventually be led by the Antichrist.

Today, the world is filled with international institutions and supranational organizations. The United Nations, World Health Organization, World Trade Organization, World Bank, International Monetary Fund and International Criminal Court all operate across national boundaries.

Political leaders frequently speak of the “rules-based international order,” the “liberal international order” or a “new world order.” While the terminology varies, the direction is similar: greater international coordination, increased global authority and reduced dependence on the sovereignty of individual nations.

Bible prophecy warned that such a governing system would emerge.

Revelation 13 teaches that the dragon, identified as Satan, will give this final world government its power, seat and authority. The Antichrist will ultimately rise to lead it.

Without Bible prophecy, the world might recognize increasing globalization without understanding its spiritual significance. Scripture reveals where this system is headed and who will eventually control it.

Why Understanding the Mark of the Beast Matters

The importance of prophetic understanding becomes especially clear when considering the mark of the beast.

Revelation 13 teaches that a future economic system will prevent people from buying or selling unless they possess the mark, the name of the beast or the number of his name.

Imagine facing that system without knowing the warning contained in Scripture.

People receive identification numbers, account numbers and access codes every day. Without biblical understanding, the world could view the mark as nothing more than another requirement for participating in society.

But God warned His church in advance.

The mark of the beast will not be an innocent administrative tool. It will represent allegiance to the Antichrist and his system.

God did not intend for His people to discover that truth after accepting the mark. He revealed it beforehand so believers could recognize it and refuse it.

God does not want His church walking through the end time with blindfolds on.

The Four Horsemen and the Rising Green Spirit

Another major prophecy is found in Revelation 6 and the four horsemen of the apocalypse.

Endtime Ministries teaches that the colors of the horses represent four major ideological and religious spirits:

• White represents Catholicism
• Red represents communism and socialism
• Black represents capitalism
• Green represents Islamism

The King James Version describes the fourth horse as “pale.” However, the original Greek word is chloros, a term associated with the color green.

According to this prophetic interpretation, the green horse represents the rise of Islam as a major end-time force.

This does not mean every Muslim is violent or personally responsible for the actions of radical Islamic organizations. It means the ideology and geopolitical power associated with Islam will play a significant role in end-time events.

Iran, the modern nation occupying the territory of ancient Persia, remains central to this development. Its government has supported militant organizations throughout the Middle East, including Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

These organizations should not be viewed as completely unrelated conflicts. They are connected through what is commonly called the Axis of Resistance, a network supported and influenced by Iran.

The increasing influence of Islamic movements across the Middle East, Europe and the West is not occurring in a prophetic vacuum. Endtime Ministries believes it corresponds with the final horseman described in Revelation 6.

Prophecy Gives Us Direction, Not Fear

The purpose of studying Bible prophecy is not to produce panic. It is to provide understanding, direction and hope.

Jesus told His followers to watch because there would be recognizable developments preceding His return.

The Bible warns of:

• A future world government
• A global religious system
• The rise of the Antichrist
• The mark of the beast
• A coming Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement
• The Sixth Trumpet War
• The Great Tribulation
• The Second Coming of Jesus Christ

God did not reveal these events to frighten His people. He revealed them so the church could prepare spiritually, remain faithful and help others understand what is coming.

Prophecy allows us to view world events through the lens of Scripture rather than through fear, political confusion or speculation.

It Is Time to Watch and Understand

We can understand Bible prophecy.

Not every detail will be known in advance, and some prophecies may become fully clear only as they are fulfilled. But Scripture repeatedly demonstrates that God expects His people to watch, study and recognize the times.

We are not children of darkness. The Day of the Lord should not overtake the church as a thief.

Almighty God has given us His prophetic Word to help us navigate the days ahead and prepare for the greatest revival the world has ever known.

The question is not whether prophecy can be understood.

The question is whether we are willing to study it.

Watch. Pray. Study the Word. And prepare for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
