Global Tensions Escalate: WEF, Middle East Crisis, and the Future of Sovereignty and Security
From Israel’s ICJ Trial to the Rise of Biometric IDs: Key Global Issues Shaping 2024 and Beyond
By Doug Norvell and Kara McPeak
WORLD GOVERNMENT
The article discusses several key global issues. South Africa has urged the International Court of Justice to accuse Israel of genocide in Gaza, seeking a ceasefire and international action. U.S. Republicans push to defund the World Economic Forum (WEF), criticizing its globalist agenda. The EU supports a Palestinian state, while some Israeli leaders resist it. Tensions rise with Iran’s missile program and China’s actions towards Taiwan. Leaked documents suggest preparations for a potential Russian attack in Eastern Europe, while the possibility of World War III intensifies. The article also explores concerns over biometric technology, CBDCs, and global religious persecution.
Israel’s International Court of Justice Trial
South Africa has urged the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to call for a complete ceasefire in Gaza and accuse Israel of genocide. South African Justice Minister Ronald Lamola emphasized that no attack justifies breaches to the Genocide Convention. The complaint, submitted to the ICJ, seeks long-term recognition of Israel’s “alleged genocide” against Gaza Palestinians and immediate provisional measures to stop the military occupation. The hearings have drawn international attention, with South Africa presenting its case first, claiming Israel’s political leaders and military commanders have explicitly declared a genocidal intent. The Israeli team countered the accusations, criticizing South Africa for allegedly representing Hamas and distorting the reality
in Gaza.
House Republicans Introduce Bill to Withdraw Funding from Globalist’s World Economic Forum
House Republicans, led by Rep. Scott Perry, have introduced the Defund Davos Act, a piece of legislation aimed at cutting off all federal funding to the World Economic Forum (WEF). The bill seeks to prevent the State Department, USAID and other federal agencies from providing funds to the WEF. According to records, the United States government has contributed millions to the WEF over the past years. This funding is something Perry and his fellow GOP lawmakers argue should come to an end.
“Forcing American Taxpayers to fund annual ski trips for insular, global elitists is absurd – not to mention reprehensible,” Rep. Perry said in a statement. “The World Economic Forum doesn’t deserve one cent of American funding, and it’s past time we defund Davos.”
Representatives argue that the WEF, known for its “Great Reset” agenda, does not deserve American funding, and it’s time to end taxpayer support for the organization. The World Economic Forum (WEF), established in 1971 by Klaus Schwab, has faced scrutiny for its impact on global government policies. The association of the phrase “You’ll own nothing. And you’ll be happy” is linked to the WEF and its proposed “Great Reset.” The Great Reset is the WEF’s initiative to rebuild the economy sustainably in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Critics argue that the WEF is exceeding its authority by influencing government decisions and assert its globalist agenda clashes with the principles of national sovereignty and the democratic will of individual nations.
MIDDLE EAST
Impose a Palestinian State
European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell suggests the creation of a Palestinian state is the only peaceful solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Borrell mentioned the possibility of imposing this solution from the outside if there is no autonomous agreement between the involved parties. The U.S. State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller also emphasized the necessity of a Palestinian state for addressing long-term security challenges and short-term reconstruction efforts in Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected a proposal related to Palestinian statehood and highlighted the importance of Israel’s security control. The U.S. appears to support the two-state solution, while some Israeli leaders resist it. The International Community’s pressure for a two-state solution has intensified in the aftermath of
recent events.
Israel Sabotaging Peace
Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh has blamed a few Israeli politicians for hindering the two-state solution, suggesting they are leading Israel into perpetual conflict. Speaking at an event in London, Khasawneh emphasized that the Arab world and Islamic countries have shown a willingness to embrace a two-state solution. He criticized Israeli leaders for rejecting this solution, stating it is detrimental to Israel’s long-term security. Khasawneh called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and urged the International Community to intervene to stop the violence. He emphasized the importance of a serious and time-lined peace process for lasting stability in the region.
SIXTH TRUMPET
Iran’s Growing Threat
There are exponential concerns about the rising provision of ballistic missiles by Iran to non-state actors, including terrorist and militia groups, posing a significant global security threat. The expansion of Iran’s ballistic missile program is attributed to factors such as the lifting of sanctions on key entities and various policies of the Biden administration. Iran currently possesses the largest ballistic missile arsenal in the Middle East, raising dual-use concerns. The regime’s support for groups like Houthis and Hezbollah, along with the establishment of weapons manufacturing facilities abroad, further contributes to regional instability. The call for sustained sanctions, enforcement and targeting Iran’s ballistic missile program is emphasized to address these challenges.
Chinese Threat to Taiwan
The Ministry of National Defense in Taiwan reported the presence of six Chinese balloons in the nation’s airspace or just north of it. While the balloons usually disappear into the Pacific, their increasing deployment has raised concerns. The purpose of these balloons remains unclear but they are seen as part of China’s campaign of harassment against Taiwan. The Democratic Progressive Party secured a third consecutive term in the recent presidential elections despite increased Chinese activities and rhetorical threats in the lead-up to the polls. China’s tactics, including deploying warships and planes, are considered part of its intimidation strategy against Taiwan, often blurring the lines between military and civilian functions.
Media Warns of WWIII Starting in Mid-East After Presidential Elections
According to leaked documents from the German Ministry of Defense, European leaders are reportedly preparing for a “hybrid” Russian attack in Eastern Europe. The plan known as “Alliance Defense 2025” is anticipated to commence in February, with Russia mobilizing an additional 200,000 soldiers in response to perceived Western financial support drying up for Ukraine. The classified documents suggest that Russia would launch severe cyberattacks in the Baltics by July and incite discontent among Russian nationals in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Clashes in September could escalate, providing a pretext for a large-scale military exercise called “Zapad 2024” involving about 50,000 Russian troops in Western Russia and Belarus. Russia might also move troops and mid-range missiles to Kaliningrad. The leaked documents propose a scenario where Germany deploys 30,000 troops for defense and by May 2025, NATO might enact measures for credible deterrence, potentially leading to combat between Western troops and Russian forces. The documents were reportedly prepared by German army generals and European allies, considering the seriousness of Russia’s perceived threat.
Meanwhile, Russian state-owned broadcaster RT’s editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan predicted World War III would “definitely” break out in the Middle East, suggesting it might depend on Washington’s strategic calculations.
“And now the third world war,” Simonyan posted to Twitter. “Whether a world war will break out now or a little later depends on whether Washington believes that it will be useful to it now, before the elections, or vice versa. Judging by the choral silence of the American media, they are still thinking a world war will definitely start. And with almost complete probability – precisely in the Middle East.”
MARK OF THE BEAST
New Biometric Technology
The rise of deepfake and AI-based technology poses a significant threat to identity verification, leading to increasingly sophisticated scams. With more interactions occurring online, the need to prove one’s identity is crucial for both individuals
and organizations.
As digital identity becomes integral in various aspects, including financial transactions, hiring and health care, the risk of identity-based fraud grows. Deepfake technology can be used to create convincing audio or video of trusted individuals, leading to unauthorized access or information theft. Organizations should develop strong strategies for identity verification to combat these threats.
Biometric technology is presented as a solution, offering a more secure and user-friendly method for identity verification. Unlike traditional passwords, biometrics use unique attributes like fingerprints or facial features, providing a secure and convenient means of verification.
It is of utmost importance to adopt advanced identity verification methods, particularly biometric technology, to address the evolving challenges posed by deepfake and AI technologies in identity-based fraud.
WEF: Biometric Digital ID Cards could Track Vaccination Status
Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, a social justice campaigner, suggested at the World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Davos that the introduction of biometric digital identity cards could be used by governments to track vaccination status. During a WEF panel discussion, she advocated for the global adoption of biometric digital ID cards, emphasizing their usefulness not only for financial services but also for purposes such as monitoring school enrollment and facilitating government welfare. Critics, however, have raised concerns that the combination of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and digital IDs could lead to surveillance and social credit systems like those in Communist China.
At the 2023 World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Davos, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair emphasized the necessity of vaccine passports, advocating for global “digital infrastructures” to monitor individual vaccine statuses. Blair predicted the introduction of numerous new vaccines and injectables in the coming years. Subsequently, in June the World Health Organization (WHO) announced its adoption of the European Union’s digital COVID-19 certification system as the foundation for a global digital health system. The QR code-based system, extensively used by European travelers during the pandemic, aims to monitor both ongoing and future health threats on a global scale.
Central Bank Digital Currencies
Nigeria recently experienced chaos with its Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) roll-out, the eNaira, which caused a months-long cash crunch due to a scarcity of paper notes. The roll-out caused protests, riots and even deaths at hospitals due to the lack of physical money. Despite the government’s efforts to promote eNaira usage, only a small percentage of Nigerians adopted it by October 2022. The global trend of CBDC exploration and implementation raises concerns about the potential for mass surveillance and control, especially if CBDCs become programmable and interoperable internationally. Public resistance, as seen in some U.S. states and Switzerland, may play a crucial role in preventing the widespread acceptance of CBDCs.
World Religion
What Spirit Rules in Davos?
Father Jesús Silva Castignani, a priest of the Archdiocese of Madrid, raised questions about the spirituality of the World Economic Forum (WEF) during its annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland. In a social media post on January 17, he questioned the spiritual aspects governing Davos and highlighted a shamanic rite performed by Chieftess Putanny Yawanawá of the Amazonian Yawanawá tribe during a plenary session titled “Climate and Nature: A Systemic Response Is Needed.” The shamanic rite involved invocations and blowing on the heads of participants including prominent figures. Among whom were the managing director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva; the president of the World Bank, Ajay Banga; the CEO of IKEA, Jesper Brodin; and the billionaire André Hoffmann. Father Silva posed questions about the choice of spiritual practices at Davos, contrasting them with the absence of Christian prayers and raising concerns about the spiritual influences at the forum. The event’s host justified the shamanic presence by emphasizing the importance of looking back at the wishes of ancestors to shape the future.
Five Thousand Christians Killed for Their Faith in 2023
The 2024 World Watch List (WWL) by Open Doors Christian charity reveals a significant rise in the global persecution of Christians in 2023. The report indicates over 365 million Christians worldwide face “high levels” of persecution, meaning one in seven Christians are persecuted for their faith. In 2023, 4,998 Christians were killed due to their faith, with attacks on Christian homes and institutions increasing drastically.
North Korea remains the most dangerous country for Christians, with an atheist and hostile regime that considers being a Christian effectively a death sentence. The top 10 countries where it is most dangerous to be a Christian mostly have Muslim majorities, with radical Islam driving persecution globally. Notably, Somalia and Libya saw increased anti-Christian violence with radical Muslim groups posing threats to believers.
Pope Francis Calls on WEF to Promote ‘Far-Sighted’ Globalization
Pope Francis has encouraged participants at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos to promote “far-sighted and ethically sound” models of globalization. He emphasized the moral dimension of globalization, calling for models that prioritize the common good over individual gain. The pope stressed the interdependence of nations and the need for global development shared by all. He advocated for effective intergovernmental structures to control and guide the economic sector, emphasizing the pursuit of the common good beyond individual states’ reach. The WEF interpreted the pope’s words as an endorsement of its “Great Reset” program, aligning with the pontiff’s calls for multilateralism and global solutions.
