Climate Crisis or Global Agenda? Activists at COP28 Warn of Civilization’s Survival While Pushing for World Government

‘Climate Crisis’ COP28 Summit

By Rick BrinegarClimate Crisis or Global Agenda? Activists at COP28 Warn of Civilization’s Survival While Pushing for World Government

Climate activists attending the recent COP28 Climate Summit have blamed human-driven climate change for many natural disasters and impending catastrophes. Is the survival of civilization in peril or is this simply an attempt to compel us to accept world government?

World Government Forming Now

The Bible prophesies that a one-world government will be established in the end time and it will ultimately be led by the Antichrist who is going to usurp authority over an already fully functioning world governing body, a single global authority. Bible prophecies foretell that a world government will be established and in power when Jesus returns to the Earth. (Revelation 13:7, Daniel 7:23) One effort to frighten everyone into compliance with this world government is global warming/climate change fraud. Imagine a world government that controls your finances, your food supply, your transportation, your religion and all worldwide energy sources. This is exactly what United Nations’ globalists have tried to implement at COP28, the 28th United Nations Climate Change conference. The global warming/climate change agenda is nothing more than an attempt to scare us into accepting a one-world government.

Socialistic, Pro-Planet COP28 Climate Summit

Since the founding of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Conference of the Parties to the Convention (COP) has assembled member countries every year to identify and formulate climate change mitigation measures. By the time the COP28 United Nations Climate Summit in Dubai had concluded in December 2023, delegates from almost 200 countries had approved a socialistic, anti-human, pro-planet pledge to triple renewable energy by 2030 and move away from “planet-warming fossil fuels.” The conference had blamed mankind’s use of fossil fuels for perpetrating a “new climate frontier” with future global temperatures higher than at any point over the past million years. The use of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas has been blamed for everything from disastrous flash flooding in Africa and wildfires in Europe and North America to mass immigration and millions of rotting fish in a river in the Australian outback.

Climate Justice Wealth Redistribution – ‘Loss and Damage Fund’

On the first day of the COP28 conference, delegates approved a “loss and damage” fund to compensate poor states for the effects of climate change. The agreement means that wealthy states and major polluters have pledged millions of dollars toward a fund that will distribute finances to poor states harmed by climate change. Initial commitments added up to $430 million with the fund controlled by the World Bank. Globalists assert that inequality is worsening as the climate crisis deepens. Therefore, “social justice” demands that, since many of the communities who will be most affected by the climate crisis are the most vulnerable, the more prosperous countries should redistribute the wealth to the poor so that the entire globe can live in a relatively equal standard of living.

Last-Minute ‘Phaseout’ Language Changed to ‘Transition Away’

Feverish last-minute negotiations produced a language revision in the COP28 draft agreement on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2023. The final document included language committing participating nations to “transition away from” fossil fuel instead of implementing a “phase out.” The previous language had called for a future “phasing out” of coal, oil and natural gas. The “transition away from” language was perhaps less offensive to big producers and users of those “global warming” energy resources.

Historic ‘The Beginning of the End’ Consensus

When the “transition away” of fossil fuels was approved, delegates whooped, applauded, stood and hugged each other. COP28 President Sultan Al Jaber boasted, “It is a plan that is led by the science. It is an enhanced, balanced, but make no mistake, a historic package to accelerate climate action. It is the UAE consensus.” United Nations Climate Secretary Simon Stiell addressed the more than 70,000 delegates, saying, “Whilst we didn’t turn the page on the fossil fuel era in Dubai, this outcome is the beginning of the end.” In addition to government and industry leaders, faith-based groups were also represented at COP28.

One-World Religion – Faith Pavilion

Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar delivered virtual video remarks at the inauguration of the first-ever Faith Pavilion at COP28. They spoke of the urgency and hope for robust climate action and urged interfaith cooperation to inspire firm commitments on climate change. The Pope and Grand Imam also signed the Interfaith Statement on Climate Action for COP28, which pledges decisive action to address the climate emergency and is signed by faith leaders from across the world.

$20 Billion Climate Action Funding Needed

Hosts United Arab Emirates claimed there were over $80 billion in pledges in the first five days of the conference. Participating countries pledged funding for climate-related issues related to health, technology and more. The goal is to promote $250 billion worth of financing for climate initiatives in developing nations by 2030. Previous years’ financial pledges have not materialized; however, the United States seems to have taken a leading role in the financial drive for net zero emissions.

US Administration Pledges $3 Billion for Global Climate Action

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris announced a new $3 billion U.S. pledge to global climate action at the Dubai summit where she proclaimed America’s leadership on the climate crisis, including its recent investments in clean energy and efforts to make vulnerable communities more resilient to worsening climate disasters.

COP28 Serves Burgers, BBQ, Calls for Reduced Beef Consumption

The U.N.’s Food & Agriculture Organization published its first-ever global food systems’ road map at COP28, which recommends nations that “over-consume meat” to limit their consumption. The summit’s online portal lists food offerings which include “juicy beef,” “slabs of succulent meat,” “smoked wagyu burgers, Philly cheesesteaks” and “melt-in-your-mouth BBQ.” Perhaps they haven’t been paying attention to former Climate Czar John Kerry’s challenge to reduce farm production.

US Climate Czar; War-Like Effort to Trim Back American Food Supply

Former U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry at a COP 28 briefing said cutting greenhouse gas emissions from agricultural production is essential to the global fight against climate change. The Biden climate head had warned a crowd in Washington D.C. in May 2023, that their “lives depend” on farmers no longer growing food to lower agriculture emissions harming the environment. He warned U.S. farmers must radically transform food production to meet ‘net zero’ emissions goals by 2030. Is the climate crisis so desperate that we need to reduce agricultural production?

Do People Believe Climate Change is a Human-Driven Crisis?

Despite a large COP28 attendance of representatives from both poor and industrialized nations, how do most people feel about climate change being an urgent crisis? Do most people believe catastrophic climate predictions are credible? An April 2022 YouGov poll revealed a third of Americans deny human-caused climate change exists, while a majority believe the threat is real but underestimated. Nevertheless, the implementation of global climate policies requires broad acceptance and publicists have long understood that fear sells.

Failed Climate Disaster Predictions

Climate activists have made dozens of catastrophic predictions since the early 70s about the impending destruction and devastation caused by mankind’s impact on the changing climate, only to be discredited later. Climate activist and former Vice President Al Gore made headlines in January 2023 when he claimed global warming was “boiling the oceans.” Fox News explained he has a history of making climate-related predictions later proven to be false.

In remarks delivered in 2009 to the World Economic Forum summit in Davos, Switzerland, Gore warned that there was “a 75% chance the entire north polar ice cap, during some of the summer months, could be completely ice-free within the next five to seven years.” However, the Arctic ice cap has not been eliminated at any point over the last decade. He also warned worldwide climate refugees would surge to a billion within the century, leading to nations losing their “capacity for self-governance.”

Sea Levels will Rise as Much as 20 Feet

In “An Inconvenient Truth,” his 2006 global warming documentary, Al Gore predicted the global sea level could rise as much as 20 feet “in the near future.” At the rate the sea level has been rising since 1993, it would take about 1,136 years for the world’s sea level to rise 20 feet. In the same speech, Gore warned that stronger storms would continue to threaten entire cities. However, the Cyclone Energy Index indicates a slight downward trend over the past 30 years, according to NOAA’s former chief scientist, Ryan Maue.

Twelve Years to Change or ‘World is Going to End’

In January 2019, prominent climate scientists pushed back against a controversial statement by Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other climate activists claim we only have 12 years to address climate change or “the world is going to end.” She had been promoting a broad policy proposal to address climate change known as the Green New Deal. Kate Marvel, a climate scientist at NASA, said, “She’s right that decisions we make in the next decade will determine how bad climate change gets — we can’t prevent bad things, but we have the power to avoid the worst-case scenario.”

Destruction of Human Health and Well-Being

There is a moral case for using cost-effective fossil fuels. Coal, oil and gas are the main sources of affordable energy and policies aimed at reducing the use of fossil fuels raise energy prices and contribute to inflation. In “Fossil Future: Why Global Human Flourishing Requires More Oil, Coal, and Natural Gas—Not Less,” Mark Steyn argues the looming “climate emergency” and imminent “renewable revolution” have been overstated and that “fossil fuels are a uniquely cost-effective source of energy. Cost-effective energy is essential to human flourishing. Billions of people are suffering and dying for lack of cost-effective energy.” Most catastrophic climate predictions have not come true. There has been no intolerable warming related to CO2 levels, no disappearance of polar ice or polar bears and no exceptional rise in ocean levels. Only fossil fuel-driven free market economies have been productive enough to raise millions of people out of poverty and provide a wide array of social, health and educational services to the most vulnerable. According to Mr. Steyn, radical anti-impact measures “will destroy human flourishing” and “ridding the world of fossil fuels is likely to leave scores of human beings poor, hungry, and destitute.”

‘Net Zero’ Nonsense

Net Zero is the hypothetical balance between the release and removal of greenhouse gas emissions from the atmosphere. Climate change activists generally believe it can be achieved through a combination of emission reduction and emission removal. The U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change found in October 2018 that global warming could still be held to 1.5°C (2.7°F) of warming compared to preindustrial levels if net human-driven carbon dioxide emissions could be reduced by 45% by 2030 compared to 2010 levels and if the Net Zero goal was reached by about mid-century. Climate Depot executive editor Marc Morano commented on the Net Zero goal in December 2023, saying, “If you look at this on any timescale, this is an insane goal. It’s an insane meeting. Net Zero is nothing short of Soviet-style central planning that will have no good for humanity.” “It’s one of the greatest farces that ever came from the United Nations,” Morano continued, “ — the idea that the UN is going to act as though … they can control the dial of the earth and control the temperature by crushing human energy and development … is literally psychotic. It has no science or common sense behind it.” What, then, would it cost to achieve this absurd Net Zero goal?

‘Net Zero’ Cost: $120 Trillion

At the 2023 Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research Economic Summit, experts discussed what needs to happen next to transition to “Net Zero” emissions. Arun Majumdar, the Chester Naramore Dean of the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, explained to the conference the International Energy Agency had estimated that reaching the goal of “Net Zero” would cost $4 trillion a year over the next 30 years. “That’s on the order of a $100 trillion to $120 trillion, plus or minus a few trillion here and there,” Majumdar said.

The Climate Emergency Alarm

Should the changing climate cause us to sound an urgent alarm? Steve Koonin, former Undersecretary for Science in the Obama administration, challenged several overconfident assumptions of climate alarmists in an October 2021 PragerU posting. In “Is There Really a Climate Emergency?” Koonin notes many believe the planet is warming catastrophically because of human activity, that powerful computers enable us to foresee what the climate will be like 20-100 years into the future and eliminating the use of fossil fuels can prevent the climate from changing indefinitely.

‘Untrue or Useless’ Presumptions

Koonin responds to these suppositions, saying, “Each of these presumptions — together, the basis of our hubris regarding the changing climate — is either untrue or so far off the mark as to be useless.” Even though Koonin agrees the planet is warming and humans are exerting a warming influence upon it, he contends “government reports state clearly that heat waves in the U.S. are now no more common than they were in 1900, … hurricane activity is no different than it was a century ago, … floods have not increased across the globe over more than seventy years,” and “Greenland’s ice sheet isn’t shrinking any more rapidly today than it was 80 years ago.”

Greenland Ice Melts “Past the Point of No Return”?

An ambitious new report, with contributions from more than 200 investigators, concluded that ongoing global warming could trigger not only the collapse of the Greenland ice sheet but could also activate a diverse number of tipping points in the global climate system. The single largest contributor to sea-level rise, according to a December 2023 report in Politico, is the melting Greenland ice sheet. The report recommends a rapid reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from the burning of fossil fuels to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees Celsius. It also recommends requiring global emissions to reach a Net Zero goal by 2050. Should the shrinking of Greenland’s ice sheet alarm us?

Greenland’s Melting Ice No Cause for Panic

Climate alarmists warn that Greenland’s immense ice sheet is shrinking increasingly more rapidly because of human-driven climate change. A typical headline from an October 2020 article in Scientific American reads “Greenland is Melting at Some of the Fastest Rates in 12,000 Years.” More recently, a January 2024 New York Times article, “How Much Ice is Greenland Losing? Researchers Found an Answer,” claims that 20 percent more of Greenland’s ice is retreating than previous estimates. Prof. Steven E. Koonin addressed these claims in the Feb. 17, 2022, Wall Street Journal, writing, “The annual loss has been decreasing in the past decade even as the globe continues to warm.” According to Prof. Koonin, the shrinking of Greenland’s ice sheet has caused a sea-level rise but “ … the data tells quite a different story from the media coverage and the political laments.” Koonin refers to a U.N. climate report which shows Greenland lost an average of 110 gigatons of ice per year since 1900, causing the oceans to rise by only 0.01 inch each year. According to Prof. Koonin, if the sea level rose by three inches by the end of this century, at that rate it would take about 10,000 years for all the ice to melt and cause the sea level to rise more than 20 feet. This information does not support the media’s exaggerations and hysteria.

Sixteen Hundred+ Scientists: “No Climate Emergency”

The Global Climate Intelligence Group is challenging the sense of crisis and climate change hysteria brought about by the imminent doom narrative of “shock-journalistic pseudoscience.”

A global coalition of 1,609 scientists have signed a declaration stating “there is no climate emergency” and that they “strongly oppose the harmful and unrealistic net-zero CO2 policy” being pushed around the world. The Global Climate Intelligence Group was founded by emeritus professor of geophysics Guus Berkhout and science journalist Marcel Crok in 2019. The foundation has challenged many climate activists’ claims, including the assertion that Earth will soon pass “tipping points that will lead to catastrophic environmental damage” and a New York Times’ claim that Earth will hit a critical global warming threshold by the early 2030s, “unless drastic changes are made.” The scientists who endorsed the CLINTEL declaration maintain global warming is “far slower than predicted” and that “inadequate models” often guide climate policy. The Global Climate Intelligence Group document reads “There is no climate emergency. Therefore, there is no cause for panic and alarm. We strongly oppose the harmful and unrealistic net-zero CO2 policy proposed for 2050.”

Cause of Climate Change is not CO2

The sun and not human CO2 emissions may be the main cause of warmer temperatures in recent decades according to a 2021 study published in Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics (RAA). In the international RAA journal, experts from over a dozen countries cast serious doubt on the United Nations’ view that mankind’s carbon dioxide emissions were the cause of global warming. Lead study author Ronan Connolly, Ph.D. told The Epoch Times the U.N. IPCC’s conclusions blaming human C02 emissions were based on “narrow and incomplete data about the sun’s total irradiance.” “In their insistence on forcing a so-called scientific consensus,” Connolly added, “The IPCC seems to have decided to consider only those data sets and studies that support their chosen narrative.”

The Climate Change Hoax

Various climate change critics including John Coleman, the founder of The Weather Channel, consider the claim that the human use of carbon-based fossil fuels results in climate catastrophes a “hoax.” However, Mark Hendrickson, former Forbes contributor, calls the human-driven climate change claim more than that. He calls it “criminal.” Hendrickson asserts that the Earth is getting warmer but not dangerously warm. CO2 may not affect global warming at all. Historically, there have been long stretches with no correlation between the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere and global temperature. In other long stretches, the variations of the two factors have followed increases in CO2 by several centuries. In other words, cause does not follow its effect. It would take a “cult-like” leap of faith to believe that it does.

The Climate Change Cult

People who challenge the government-approved narrative about climate change are often called “climate deniers” or “climate skeptics.” “Climate alarmists” on the other hand warn that climate change is a crisis. They insist there is a “scientific consensus” that says climate change is a human-driven emergency requiring immediate action. One U.S. Environmental Protection Agency legal counsel, William C. Tucker, believes there is an organized campaign designed to conceal the dangers of burning fossil fuels from the American public. Not only that but he also believes this kind of climate denial is criminal and that it should be prosecuted as “conspiracy to defraud.” He is one of many who believe the “consensus” is so strong, there should not even be any debate. But others like Judith Curry, a researcher and former chairwoman of the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology, could well be called “climate skeptics.” Prof. Curry has concluded that “it’s a manufactured consensus” and that “the science about climate change had been corrupted.” Her skepticism was heightened by the Climategate scandal of 1999.

Climategate “Science” Hijacked by Alarmists

In November 2009, more than a thousand emails between scientists at the Climate Research Unit of the United Kingdom’s University of East Anglia were stolen by a hacker. Climate skeptics claimed the emails showed scientific misconduct that amounts to the complete fabrication of manmade global warming. The Climategate scandal taught Prof. Curry that many researchers are not very open-minded. The leaked emails showed university climate scientists conspiring to hide data. One of the emails read, “If you think this Yale professor is in the skeptics camp … get him ousted.” Could it be climate alarmists had corrupted science because there is a climate change industry set up to reward alarmism? Prof. Curry has resolved that climate change is a problem but not a crisis. Perhaps the climate change agenda has more to do with politics and commerce than with climate.

Climate Religion ‘Shackling’ America

Technology entrepreneur and Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy discussed the climate agenda during a March 2023 Fox News interview. Ramaswamy said one of his top priorities would be to abandon climate religion that “shackles the United States while leaving China untouched.” “The climate religion has nothing to do with climate,” Ramaswamy continued, “It is all about power, control, dominion and apologizing for America’s owns success.”

Climate Change Alarmism is a ‘Cult’

Sky News Australia host Cory Bernardi asserted on air in September 2023 that climate change alarmism is a “cult” which reason and logic seem “unable to cure.” Mr. Bernardi observed that although the climate has changed from cooler to warmer and back for thousands of years, no one seems able to explain how or why the climate has been much warmer and cooler previously. Yet apparently, now it is a “manmade catastrophe.” “Allowing the world to think that disaster is imminent, and man is somehow responsible,” he said, “allows bad actors to seize control of your life and implement an agenda that empowers them.” He emphasized, “It is a tool of control.”

Climate Cult has Grown Stronger

In a February 2023 Fox News segment, Tucker Carlson quoted author Michael Crichton to expose some outrageous leftist ideas which are purported to help the environment. Michael Crichton was an author, screenwriter, filmmaker and according to Carlson, a political philosopher. Michael Crichton delivered a talk about 20 years ago about the climate crisis. He described climate activism in that speech as a “religion for urban atheists,” for people who had rejected every aspect of Judaism and Christianity. Climate activists had created a religion, according to Crichton, with all the features of a conventional religion. They had their “Eden,” which would be the world before the settlers arrived. They would have their “original sin,” the industrial revolution and a “rapture,” an end of times or “climate catastrophe.” The only way to save yourself would be to renounce your energy sins and embrace climate activism. As religious faith and identification with an established religion have plummeted, the “cult of climate” has grown even stronger. In other words, in the Church of Environmentalism, the current establishment narrative mimics a religious system. It is a deceptive counterfeit which does nothing to prepare people for the real end of days.

Disastrous Climate Change Alarms

COP28 delegates, intent on instituting one-world global government policies, have issued dire and unscientific warnings which contrast dramatically to the examination of actual data sets presented by researchers who have dissented from the establishment narrative. As numerous world leaders push heavily for net zero carbon emissions by 2050, other scrupulous investigators believe this is not only unrealistic but deceitful and harmful to world economies and harmful to the most vulnerable. We must concur with climate change skeptics that there is no climate crisis. We welcome the claim that a politically driven and godless climate agenda exposes the financial burden, economic disaster, suffering, folly and hypocrisy of climate change mitigation decrees. As one-world government climate action advocates try to scare us with an impending climate catastrophe, we choose to see through alarmist rhetoric and invest our energies and substance responsibly in a kinder and more hopeful future, as we look for the establishment of the true one-world Kingdom of the sovereign King of kings and Lord of lords.
