Is World War III on the Horizon? The Global Tensions Driving Us Toward Conflict
By Doug Norvell and Kara McPeak
The article discusses escalating global tensions that may be pushing the world closer to World War III. It highlights the ongoing conflict between the U.S. and Hezbollah, with attacks on U.S. military bases in Syria and Iraq. It also touches on rising fears of terror attacks on U.S. soil. The U.S.’s military actions in Syria and strained relations with Iran further intensify the situation. Additionally, the article covers international issues like U.S.-North Korea relations, climate policies, and shifts in religious stances, all contributing to a complex geopolitical landscape. The potential for widespread conflict and global shifts is becoming increasingly likely.
US Inches Toward World War III
After the horrific attacks in Israel on October 7, the world has had its eye on the battle between the Israeli Defense Forces and Hamas. However, a military confrontation between the United States and Hezbollah has been heating up. There have been several attacks on U.S. military bases in Syria and Iraq. Rockets continue to be fired daily. While the American media has kept silent about the injuries to our soldiers, insiders at Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, have reported wards are filling up with U.S. military who have been wounded in these attacks.
Why are we not being told? Could it be the White House and the State Department are concerned it could cause the American public to begin to call for the U.S. to pull out of that region of the world? They also fear the thought of no longer having an American presence in Iraq and Syria.
The leader of the terrorist group Hezbollah, Hasan Nasrallah, has commented that if America attacks Hezbollah in Lebanon or Syria, there would be retaliation. U.S. F-15s struck a weapons facility belonging to Iran and its terror partners in Eastern Syria along the area of the Euphrates shortly after the downing of a U.S. MQ-9 drone by Tehran-backed, Yemen-based Houthi forces.
The strike by the U.S. was more of a warning to Iran than a show of strength, leaving military analysts to wonder if it does more to antagonize Iran than to detour them. The country’s Defense Minister Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani was quoted saying that America should “immediately stop the war.” According to Tasnim News Agency, Ashtiani said, “Our advice to the Americans is to immediately stop the war and implement a ceasefire, otherwise you will be hit hard.” There have also been reports of terror cells in the U.S. for some time now and with recent events along our borders with Mexico, undocumented aliens enter by the thousands daily. We have seen the number of pro-Palestinian supporters grow in this country. The FBI has warned we could see terror attacks on U.S. soil over the next 14 months. Is the United States inching its way toward World War III? We may know the answer very soon.
Russia, China Aiding North Korea to Evade UN Sanctions
During a summit for the United Nations Command, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin expressed deep concern over close cooperation between Russia, China and North Korea, alleging they are working together to help North Korea expand its military capabilities while evading U.N. sanctions. Austin highlighted the troubling growth in military cooperation between Russia and North Korea, citing evidence of material cooperation and aid. South Korean Defense Minister Shin Won-sik echoed these concerns, referencing historical assistance from Russia and China to North Korea during the Korean War. The summit emphasized the importance of shoring up security for the next 70 years and defending the Republic of Korea against potential threats. South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol warned of the possibility of “Hamas-style” surprise attacks from North Korea in the region.
World Government
Will the US Survive Under a World Government?
The concept of The Great Reset, which envisions a global economic overhaul for a more sustainable and equitable future, has been criticized for potential negative impacts on individual freedoms and the American form of government. Critics argue that it may lead to a world body that undermines conservative ideals, resembling communism. While supporters view it as an opportunity for positive change, critics, including authors like Michael Rectenwald, associate it with corporate socialism and communist capitalism. The debate centers on whether The Great Reset, endorsed by figures like King Charles and Klaus Schwab, could lead to a system where social justice ideals limit individual freedom and stifle diverse ideas.
Meat Consumption will be a Target of UN at COP28
The 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) in Dubai, where the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) plans to advise citizens of wealthy nations to consume less meat to address climate change. The FAO argues that agriculture, responsible for a significant portion of greenhouse gas emissions, needs attention in climate discussions. The focus is on reducing meat consumption in developed nations and improving agricultural sustainability in developing countries. Climate activists support this move, emphasizing the environmental impact of livestock farming. The FAO is expected to release a roadmap during COP28 to guide the livestock industry toward a more sustainable future. Critics argue that the U.N.’s approach is an attempt to coerce the agricultural industry into producing less food, revealing what they perceive as a Malthusian agenda.
World Religion
Transgenders can Receive Baptism
The Vatican has announced transgender people can be baptized into the Roman Catholic Church. They will also be able to serve as godparents and join in religious ceremonies. The new stance by the church comes from an inquiry from Bishop Jose Negri from Brazil. He asked the church’s Dicastery of the Doctrine of Faith six questions regarding the LGBTQ community and their ability to participate in matrimony and baptisms.
The response was posted on the department’s website in Italian, “A transgender person – including those who have undergone hormonal treatment and gender reassignment surgery – can receive baptism under the same conditions as other believers “if there are no situations in which there is a risk of generating public scandal or disorientation among the faithful.” The document went on to explain transgenders can also be godfathers and godmothers. It also included children who identify as transgender. This new stance was signed by Argentine Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernandez and approved by Pope Francis.
Vatican Joins Declaration on Climate Change
Pope Francis has signed an interfaith declaration on protecting the environment for the religious summit held before the COP28 climate change conference in Dubai. Twenty-eight religious leaders from around the world from 19 different religions joined the Interfaith Declaration on Climate Action for COP28. The declaration says, “Our faith instills in us a sacred duty to cherish not only our human family but also the fragile ecosystem that cradles us.” Along with the pledge of commitment by religious leaders, the document also calls for action by heads of state, governments and nonstate actors “to champion the development of a faith-based ecological narrative.”
This will be the first time the summit has included a faith pavilion which will host more than 65 sessions with religious figures, scientists and political leaders. The “Conference of Parties” meetings include governments that have signed on to the U.N. frameworks on climate change such as the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Climate Agreement.

Georgia Digital Wallet and ID
Georgia Department of Driver Services has announced the new digital driver’s license and ID in Google Wallet. Participants will be able to securely present their digital driver’s license and ID using Android smartphones at select TSA PreCheck security locations within Georgia’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
Georgia’s Governor Brian Kemp stated, “Across the state, Georgians expressed overwhelming excitement over the initial rollout of this new option and today’s announcement is another exciting step forward in Georgia’s mission to provide cutting-edge technology to its citizens. We look forward to the continued rollout of this program and its growth in the days and years ahead.”
The DDS reminded customers the digital driver’s license and ID is voluntary and your physical license should be carried at all times along with the digital ID.
When presenting a Georgia digital driver’s license and ID in Google Wallet at a TSA PreCheck checkpoint, passengers can simply hold their smartphone near the reader. Your device will then display the information requested by the TSA, and only after authorizing with their phone unlock method is the requested information released from a device. Since the information is being shared digitally, residents do not need to hand over their devices to present a Georgia digital driver’s license and ID in Google Wallet.
Middle East Peace
Biden and Macron Push for Two-State Solution After War
In a recent address to reporters, President Biden said, “Israelis and Palestinians equally deserve to live side by side in safety, dignity and peace. There’s no going back to the status quo as it stood on October the 6th.” Referring to the events that sparked an all-out war between Israel and Hamas, Biden continued to say Hamas will no longer terrorize Israel and use Palestinian civilians as human shields. The goal he said is not just to remove Hamas from Gaza but to determine what comes next when the crisis is over. It must be “a two-state solution.” “It means a concentrated effort from all the parties — Israelis, Palestinians, regional partners, global leaders — to put us on a path toward peace,” Biden stated.
President Biden said he believes Hamas attacked to stop the progress of peace between Saudi Arabia and Israel. He said, “And we can’t leave that work behind.” French President Emmanuel Macron has also remarked on the importance of a two-state solution with regional leaders during his trip to Cairo, Egypt. He expressed the need for a battle against terror while preventing regional conflict. The insurance of humanitarian aid for Gaza and the ability to arrive at a two-state solution once the war against Hamas has ended. France has been very outspoken on its support for a Palestinian State. Macron stated, “We must act decisively today to finally achieve a two-state solution with Israel and Palestine living side by side in peace and security.”

EU Parliament to Vote on ‘Dystopian Superstate’ Proposal
The European Parliament is expected to approve a report proposing amendments to EU treaties, aiming to eliminate member states’ veto rights and increase the power of EU institutions. The report put forward by the Verhofstadt Group suggests a significant transfer of competences from national to EU levels and the replacement of unanimity voting with majority or qualified majority voting. The proposals grant the EU exclusive responsibility for areas such as the environment, public health, industry and education, with shared competences in energy, foreign affairs, security, defense and external border policy. The European Parliament would gain more powers, becoming a co-legislator for the EU’s long-term budget. Critics, particularly conservative forces, argue that this constitutes a dangerous power grab, creating a superstate that diminishes member countries’ status. The report’s approval is likely with support from liberal, green, leftist and center-right groups but some warn of potential consequences, including the imposition of moral and philosophical issues and limitations on the rights of smaller countries. National governments, however, are reportedly hesitant to reopen treaties amidst the ongoing Ukraine war and the cost of living crisis.
