Common Core doesn’t add up

A civil engineer with decades of service in the construction industry says the Common Core and Career Standards are perpetrating a fraud.

 

Henry W. Burke knows the math proficiency that is required to be a competent engineer in construction. In a recent editorial, he states that Common Core is a “gigantic fraud,” as it does not prepare students for the rigors of college.

 

Jane Robbins of the American Principles Project seconds that.

 

“He is correct that … especially Common Core math is a fraud, because … the creators and proponents from the very beginning said that these would be internationally benchmarked standards and that these would make students college and career ready, and neither one of those statements is true,” she tells OneNewsNow.

 

Although Burke is not an academician by trade, Robbins says he knows what he is talking about and is trying to shed light on the problem.
