Is This Really What the Prophecy Says?
“And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.” (Revelation 9:15) The “third part of men” would be over two billion people! Other translations read “one-third of the human race”, “one-third of all the people on earth”, “one-third of humanity”. They all say the same thing. A war is just ahead that will kill over two billion human beings!
A Man to Lead the Way Out
After this prophesied global holocaust, people will beg for a strong man to lead the way out of the chaos and destruction and into peace and security. Such a man does exist. how do we know that the war that originates from the Euphrates River, is not the same as armaggedon war?
These are two different wars and they are separated by at least 3 ½ years, the tribulation period. In the vision of the trumpets, spanning from Revelation 8 – Revelation 11, the 6th trumpet war occurs in Revelation 9:13-21. In Revelation 10 we see an angel standing with a foot on the land and on the sea declaring that time should be no longer. This same event occurs in Daniel 12 except a timeframe is given for the time of these wonders. It is a time, times, and a half. That terminology speaks of a 3 ½ year period and it always refers to the tribulation. So the tribulation begins in Revelation 10 which is why we see what we do in the beginning of Revelation 11. John measures the temple but not the outer court because it is trodden down of the Gentiles for 42 months. That equals 3 ½ years. So we know that WW3 must take place before the tribulation begins. We know that Armageddon happens at the end of the tribulation. It is going on at the time God’s wrath and His second coming occur in Revelation 16 and Revelation 19. So these are two separate wars. This was a great article. But I have a question that I hope you can answer.
The book of revelation says World war 3 will be so devastating, that God MUST intervene to stop it or else no flesh would be saved.
This is what confuses me…
1 – Book of Revelation says God WILL intervene for the sake of the Church because the great tribulation will be a very horrific time.
2 – This article says the Antichrist will come up on the world stage to bring “Peace” after the war.
3 – The Book of Revelation does not mention any wars that will impose a threat to humanity during the first 3 and a half years. It only gives us signs of the more devastating events that will soon occur . So God does not need to intervene here.
4 – So, The book of revelation MUST be speaking about the War in the Great Tribulation, A time where humanity will bring about it’s own destruction. So therefore, God must intervene. Also, during the Great tribulation, The Antichrist will be ruling.
I hope you understand what I’m trying to ask here. All I want to know is WHO will stop the War? I doubt it’s the Antichrist because the Book of Revelation speaks of nations/countries attacking him. But I could be wrong.
The Bible teaches that the 6th trumpet war, WW3, will take place before the tribulation. This war kills one-third of mankind. This will probably be what creates the pathway for the Antichrist to step on the world stage. Eventually he will fulfill the role of the Antichrist and be used to pour out Satan’s wrath, the tribulation. At the end of the tribulation we come to the battle of Armageddon. Hi Wanda Kate, Yes all of this tribulation will have a time limit, like I said. And after its all over, yes I will meet you too “in the garden by the waterfall” as you put it! I like that. I love nature and feel God most when I am outside viewing a sunset or looking at the ducks in the lake. But to get back to our topic, when WWIII happens and the tribulation starts, it will be a countdown for me, a sure one. We know that God will be coming shortly after all of this begins. But it may seem like the longest 7 years of our lives. Scary and painful, though it may be, my uppermost thought will be witnessing to everyone I know, especially my family and friends. I believe the church is going to get strong while it’s persecuted and that we will all band together as we watch for the end. Many people believe that WW3 started on 9/11/01. If that is correct than nothing will be altered. I would expect something big to first happen from one of the Euphrates River nations but much of the conflict in the world today is a result of the turmoil in the Middle East.

I saw someone talk about the mark of the beast and I love God worship and praise him everyday they said the mark of the beast will be a chip or a tattoo or piercingly and I got a Peiercing when I was a baby and I don’t like them anyway, but they won’t close up will I be punished for something I had no control over and is a piercing one of the marks anyway?
The mark of the beast will be something in the hand or in the forehead. The mark cannot exist at this time because the Antichrist is not in power. Also people will have a choice when it comes to the mark. You can worship the Antichrist and receive the mark or reject it and lose your life. You do not have the mark of the beast.

The Bible does not specifically tell us that this is going to happen but since a war is coming that is going to kill 1/3 of mankind, it seems likely that we would be hit. We have to wait and see how things unfold.

These are not dealing with the same thing. Islam claims about 1/4 of the world’s population as followers. We believe that fits the spirit of Islam’s power over a fourth part of the earth. When the 6th trumpet occurs 1/3 of mankind will be killed.

To Eric…Hi I had to comment cause you said very concerned. I know what that’s like. Many souls are concerned as our world around us is rapidly changing and not for the better it seems. We are not supposed to set a “date” for the return. But JESUS did give us many clues to when he would return because he loves us and did not want us to be in the dark about it. He told us to keep watch and be alert and know about the signs of the times. He talked in Matthew 24 about this very topic. He said he would come “after” the man of sin who is the Antichrist. Also in Revelation 11:15 he let John know when he was coming to take over the kingdoms of the world from Satan. This is Satan’s world but not for much longer. We have to go through the 7 years of tribulation. JESUS comes back after the Antichrist reign. The mark of the beast must be offered and we must have World War III before he comes. We will be here for the first two sets of judgments in Revelation the seals and trumpets but not for the bowl judgments as those are for the sinners that would not repent of their sins and trust the LORD. There is no escape route and the Christians and sinners will all be here until JESUS comes. The rapture and the second coming are the very same event, they are not separate. Hope this helps you. Eric: We will not be raptured before the rise of the Antichrist (the man of sin),as that is not found in scripture. The pre-tribulation rapture doctrine is man made. It’s a “feel good” gospel, because it makes people feel better but it’s false. Read Matthew 24 where you will see the word “after”. JESUS will appear after the tribulation of those days and at the 7th trumpet judgment of Revelation which is Revelation 11:15. Please read that and you will see that that is where he takes over the kingdoms of this world. The Christians are here through all of it until the 7th trumpet, and then JESUS comes, takes the church (the saved) with him and then the bowl judgments come on the earth. The church will not go through those because they are specifically for the unrepentant sinners that refused to accept JESUS. Please do not be deceived by some pastor that told you that you would just be taken off the earth before the mark of the beast and the Antichrist, as that is not true. bless you…
2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 shows that the day of the second coming and the rapture cannot happen until there is a falling away first and the man of sin, the Antichrist, is revealed. So we will not be raptured before the rise of the Antichrist.

To Carissa, that is a pretty name. You appear to be looking for an answer about the seven years and if they have begun as well as when JESUS is coming. We are in the beginning of what the Bible refers to as birth pains. We are on the edge. World War III will happen, then the Antichrist will come and promise us all peace. We must go through the tribulation first and this war, and as for JESUS coming he won’t come until the falling away of the church when people turn on religion and GOD and after the Antichrist comes and the False Prophet and the mark of the beast is offered so no man can buy or sell without the mark. All of that first, then JESUS returns to take home the people who loved and obeyed him and believed in him. Please study your Bible that will be very helpful to you okay?

Everyone, I believe we are in end of the world, doesn’t mean that the world are finish but there will be still earth…but the tribulation is starting here that I see, according the Bible. One thing that I know for sure is Jesus Christ is coming very sooner and take the true believers to go with Him before this war is starting. The true believers don’t need to worry about those obstacles is because the Lord is with you, trust in Him and His peace will be with you until the end. Samuel do you have a bible? You need to be reading it if you do. It says that JESUS will come in the clouds of heaven and every eye will see, and every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that he is LORD. It’s JESUS who is coming down from Heaven to get the Christians. I assume you believe since you ask that question and you were on this website. He comes the same way he left the earth. He went up in bodily form into the clouds in front of his disciples and he will return with a host of heavenly Angels, a multitude of them. They will accompany him from Heaven and will assist him in gathering all of the saints from one end of the earth to the other along with the saints that were in their graves that had already died. GOD has a master plan and he has been putting his puzzle together for many years now and he knows exactly what he is doing. There are some rough times ahead, I won’t lie to you or give you a feel good gospel but he will see you through. You said here, I am a Christian, and that is really awesome because there are many who are not. Read your Bible and you will learn a lot. Read Matthew 24 and learn also read Revelation 11, verse 15 tells you when JESUS will take over the kingdoms of this world and when he will come, it’s at the 7th trumpet. Read about all that will happen there and learn. Knowledge is power and the more you know the more you will be able to help yourself and your family that you so dearly love. They are so fortunate that you love them as you do. You need to read to get all those years straight. The coming tribulation is a total of 7 years. Half of that is fairly peaceful but then it get really bad at the middle with the reign of the Antichrist and the False Prophet. JESUS will come “after” all of that bad stuff and take care of everything. No one can harm you spiritually Sarah, physically yes, but they can’t harm the spirit. GOD knows his own and you stop worrying because it does nothing, it causes stress and stress will kill you all by itself. hello I am christian and believe in God. I am not very smart on all this stuff and I am terrified. I take anxiety pills due to worrying about things, I know God would take off my hands. So there will be a ww3 and then peace? and after that peace there will be 7 years of good and then you either take the mark of the beast or die? So we have time before this happens.. and ww3 is suppose to happen between who? How do we know the bible talks about ww3 and not a ww4? Im not scared of going to heaven Im scared of dying and my family. My anxiety is so terrible I dont even want to work cause Im worried something will happen and I wont be by my family. Jesus said “less you come as a little child, you can not enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” You my dear have nothing to fear, just continue to love those around you until Jesus calls you home. This world is not your home any way, we are here long enough for Him to prepare our real home. And very soon there will be no more fear or anxiety. jc
Yes; it is all scary to us – we are human beings. Jesus Christ said that we are to cast ALL our burdens & cares upon Him, for He cares for us. Go to bed at night, cast ALL your fears, cares and burdens upon Christ; then you’ll soon be asleep. – Fear not! Rest in Christ!
All you have to do is ask God to heal your anxiety, and use that anxiety to help others learn the truth about Jesus. He will save you and your family. You can be healed and do not be afraid, because fear, sadness, negative thoughts and bad feelings come from the enemy. Pray day and night, talk to God everyday, involve him in your life on a daily basis with all your concerns and decisions, he will bless answer you back in the spirit, if it is posible try to fast for a week concering your anxiety, maybe eat only in the afternoons. Praying and fasting are very powerfull things we can do to heal ourselves and others. No matter when Jesus comes and if we die before he comes, all that matters is that we are in truth helping others know his word and living as much as we can a Godly life. Stay in peace, Jesus saves. If you are in Christ (born again) THERE IS NOTHING to fear! 2nd Timothy 1:7 tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. As a child of God YOU HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR! NO forces can come against you without God’s permission and He only allows what is good for you. Read Job. Satan had to get PERMISSION to attack Job and God only allowed it because He planned to use it for Jobs good. Someone once said that God has stated 365 times in the Bible “Do not fear/worry.” One for every day of the year. God protected Israel when He was plaguing Egypt, He will also protect us in the last days….PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, study the PROMISES of God. Each of those is for you!
God is soveriegn. Yes there will be tribulation on this earth, BUT GOD IS SOVERIEGN! In control of EVERY detail. He planned it before the foundation of the world. And HE LOVES YOU! Desperately and wholly. He WILL take care of you. TRUST HIM! PLEASE! I will pray for you, but just study His Word. Taste and see how GOOD He is. He is FOR YOU not against you. Read Psalms 23 over and over and over and over.
Firstly – Anxiety (along with most other emotional problems we face) is an unclean spirit that has attached itself to you through a circumstance. You need to use the authority given to you by Yeshua (Jesus) and rebuke the enemy from your midst. You don’t ask it nicely, you tell it with authority that they have no place in you and you rebuke anxiety in the name of Yeshua and ask Yahweh (God) to cleanse your temple and to put this unclean spirit into the outer darkness.
Secondly – I was like you to a certain degree. I was worried all the time, making myself exhausted by the shear amount I was worrying about things. I had to decide that whatever happens, if I am walking in Yahweh’s commandments (all of them) and have the testimony of Yeshua (believe he died for my sins, rose and will return), I will be protected from his wrath; we will go through tribulation and he has told us to keep our eyes on him. But my understanding is that WWIII will come before Christ returns. There is disagreement on when we will be caught up to be with Him so I assume we could be here when this war happens. None of us can control these things – that is the whole point. We are to rely on our Savior for that and rely on Him alone. Trust Him to be there for you and your family in these times because there is/will be no other help. His grace will be sufficient. It can’t be a mixture because Heaven is reserved for the saved and not the unsaved. There is not going to be any “sin” in the Kingdom of GOD. Perhaps you misread what Steve has asked. He said, “will the 1/3 that die go to Heaven or is it a mixture of saved and unsaved? It will not be the unsaved, that is for sure. I think your answer should be made right so that he will know it was not correct. It will not be a mixture, only the saved will go to be with the LORD.
My question pertains to Johns discription of “horses and those who sat on them with breastplates of firey red, hyacinth, and brimstone and the horses with heads like lions breathing fire, smoke, and brimstone and tails like serpents that do harm”. I remember in the 5th trumpet the descirption of “locusts with breastplates of iron” refering to possibly helicopters, but I’m having trouble placing the description in Rev. 9:17. What have you found?
The description in Revelation 9 is referring to an army that will be a part of the war that will kill 1/3 of mankind. They are not apart of the locust from the 5th trumpet.
I don’t see how further conflict around the middle east will lead to WW3, the countries in the region are simply too weak to seriously threaten the US. Even armed with a limited nuclear arsenal Iran doesn’t have the technology to miniaturize and mount a nuclear warhead on a missle? (even if it did it doesn’t have the range to hit the western powers?)
I think the real threat is of conflict between China and Japan. There is plenty of evidence of simmering tension. How does this fit with scripture?

The antichrist will come to power half way through the final seven years, which is after the 6th trumpet war prophesied in Revelation 9.

Another super interesting thing to note, especially with the rising conflict in Syria, is that the Euphrates runs directly through the middle of Syria. Also, the US in particular has been outfitting the neighboring countries with ammunition and supplies. Just this week they gave Lebanon 200 tanks. I think our government expects a war to start soon but doesn’t want to warn the public. Its time to wake up, America!
Lucy, As you know the government isn’t going to give us a warning unless it’s too late. We are not to ever depend on them to warn us or do much if anything for us in our time of need. Remember the mess with Katrina? If they warned the public there would be panic, total chaos and they don’t want people going crazy and looting, and taking all of their money out of the banks and causing problems. They will keep it quite until the very end. Of course you are correct that they expect war, but it’s hush-hush. WWIII or the the 6th trumpet war is not the battle of Armageddon. They are two separate wars. According to revelation 9, WWIII will occur before the rapture and the battle of Armageddon will occur as Jesus is coming back. The temple mount has not been completed, but according to scripture, it will be completed by the time the final 7 years begin.

I am just coming to realize we are really near WWIII. But the comfort I have is that there is a time limit to the tribulation. That will be my consolation during these troubles. There is a time limit on it and we can rest knowing that our Redeemer will be coming and that it will all end very soon! I remember a verse which says, “the suffering of this time is not to be compared with the glory which will be revealed later.” That is my hope!

Yes, WWIII is coming, trials and tribulations are coming, but our GOD is in control, amen…There is a limit as you say, and “after” all of it he will come for the church. Many are searching for “the truth”, but there are indeed many others who don’t want it. They don’t think we are that close to the return of JESUS, they don’t think he will come in their lifetime, are they don’t think he will return at all. Many are scared and worried about the end time events. Many are not saved, they have no peace in their hearts, and thus are not prepared to go. Many people wonder where they will go when this life is up. They are scared of the unknown. Pray for the lost souls. So many are deceived by their pastors who have told them that they won’t be here for the reign of the Antichrist, that they will be gone by then. They are counting on that, the pre tribulation doctrine. The Bible does not support a rapture of the saints before the Antichrist comes. They are so awfully deceived and they are going to feel terrible when they find themselves facing trouble, the mark of the beast and the false prophet. They will be so angry with their pastors they won’t know then what to do. Just think, they won’t be prepared to face what coming, and by time they find out it may be way too late. GOD help them to find out the truth and believe it before its too late for them. As you say, the truth has got to be presented to the people.

There are many sources of info for surviving a nuclear war. We have been preparing for it for over 10 years. One source where you can download free info is ki4u.com. You can estimate the threat level for your area and plan appropriately. Most people that live at least 6.7 miles from an epicenter will surviving the initial blast if they know how to react (assuming it is a 1 megaton ground burst and not an air burst ). It has been estimated that less than 20% of he U.S. population will be killed by the initial blast. Sadly, our government no longer trains local authorities on civil defense. It is up to the individual to prepare to survive. I used to fear this more than any other threat but once we had mitigated the threats by moving to an area that wasn’t a primary target and by obtain food storage, water and building a shelter we now have no reason for fear.

I think it debatable if the rapture occurs before WWIII. I believe that the church will remain. That is the reason for my preparations. Better to be prepared than to assume that G*D will lift you out. But then again I don’t believe in a Pre-trib rapture. I believe that WWIII isn’t the same conflict as Armageddon.

At present I have this noted as the Psalms 83 war which is to occur before the abomination or the final 42 months known as the tribulation and the return of our lord Jesus Christ. What appears to be finalizing now is the “Muslim Brotherhood” is overthrowing countries to align them against Israel. The current turmoil in Syria could be what is holding them up at present as they are to be part of the Psalm 83 War. I will welcome any information pro or con reguarding this subject.

It was always my understanding that the Tribulation lasted 7 years & that the “Great” Tribulation was the last 3 1/2. Is it 7 years or was that wrong teaching? If it is 7 then where does the other 3 1/2 years fit in?
There is no difference between the tribulation and the great tribulation. Those are just two terms referring to the same thing. Daniel 9:27 speaks of a final 7 year period. This has been taught to be the tribulation however the verse says nothing about the entire 7 years being tribulation. The verse does tell us that the abomination of desolation happens in the middle or midst of the 7 years though. Jesus taught us in Matthew 24:15-21 that the tribulation would begin after the abomination of desolation. So if the tribulation starts after the abomination of desolation which happens in the middle of the 7 years, then there would only be 3 1/2 years for the tribulation to take place. As a result we find numerous scriptures speaking of a 3 1/2 year tribulation. Scripture references you can refer to are: Daniel 7:25, Daniel 12:7, Revelation 11:1-2, Revelation 12:6, Revelation 12:14, and Revelation 13:5.

Hi Guillain…What can we do now? You just ask that one simple question. PRAY! Ask GOD for wisdom to understand what is going to happen in the near future and how you can prepare for it physically, mentally, and spiritually as well. We are not going anywhere until JESUS comes to get us (if we are believers). We must go through World War III and the reign of the Antichrist and most of the tribulation. The first half things will start to get a lot worst than they now are, but then the Antichrist (the man of perdition) will take off his halo and turn into the likes of Satan. He will rule the world, he will break the peace agreement that was made with Israel, and basically things will not be life as we know it anymore. All of this must happen (a total of 7 years). JESUS will then come and open up the graves where the dead are and take them with him, along with those who are still alive on the earth, they will go up with JESUS. We are here for the wrath of Satan which are the Seal and Trumpet Judgments and JESUS comes at the end of that at the 7th trumpet. Then after all of the Christians will be removed from the earth, then the last set of Judgments will come on the unrepentant sinners. The church will not suffer the Bowl judgments. Many people think there is an escape route and that JESUS is taking out the church before the Antichrist comes and they won’t have to worry about the Mark of the Beast but none of that is Biblical. The Bible DOES NOT support a pre-trib rapture. Read Matthew 24:29 and Revelation 11:15. In Matthew notice the word “after” and in Revelation notice when JESUS comes, at verse 15 which is at the 7th trumpet. Don’t be deceived with false doctrine. When we compare Ezekiel 39:17-20 with Revelation 19:17-20 we find that both of these wars conclude at the same event. We know that the war in Revelation 19 is Armageddon therefore we believe the war in Ezekiel is also Armageddon. The 6th trumpet war is a different war. We know scripturally that the 6th trumpet war must happen before the tribulation and we know that Armageddon takes place at the end of the tribulation. So we believe the war of Ezekiel and the 6th trumpet war are two different wars separated by the tribulation.

Every detail in the bible has happened and they are still happening. Someone said he hopes Jesus does not come on a sunday or else most people would have repented, but if its other days, you can be rest assured not many will make it.
We do not know exactly when the rapture will take place but we do know that it happens after World War 3 and after the tribulation. Matthew 24:29-31 gives us a clear depiction of this. This coming war prophesied in Revelation 9:13-21 is not the same as Armageddon. Armageddon happens at the end of the tribulation and World War 3 must happen before the tribulation. World War 3 is prophesied in Revelation 9. In Revelation 10 we find an angel standing with one foot on the land and on the sea declaring that time should be no longer. We find the exact same account in Daniel 12 only we are given a time period. The time given was a time, times, and a half or 3 1/2 years which is the length of the tribulation. So the war must happen before the tribulation. This is why when we move into Revelation 11 we find that the outer court of the temple will be trodden down of the Gentiles for 42 months which is 3 1/2 years. We find the start of the tribulation.
