US government issues worldwide alert on Israel-related demonstrations

The U.S. State Department issued a “worldwide caution” alert after posts on various social media platforms called for demonstrations at U.S. and Israeli facilities on Friday, Oct. 25. The travel warning suggests U.S. citizens avoid rallies and demonstrations and be careful if they’re near one.

“Even peaceful demonstrations have the potential to turn violent without warning,” the alert said. Tensions are high worldwide, including in the U.S., as pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian forces go head to head in demonstrations and protests amid the war in Gaza.
