TikTok Confirms China Can Access U.S. User Data

The Chinese-owned video app TikTok has confirmed that employees within the communist dictatorship can access the personal data of U.S. users. The company’s admission came in a letter to nine U.S. senators who accused TikTok and its parent company, ByteDance Ltd., of monitoring U.S. citizens. “TikTok’s response confirms our fears about the CCP’s influence in the company were well founded,” said Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN).
