Jordan’s Role Highlights Prophetic Alliances
Jordan has become an increasingly important front in the escalating conflict between the United States and Iran. Following Iranian missile and drone attacks that killed American service members stationed in Jordan, the kingdom now finds itself at the center of a growing regional confrontation.
As one of America’s closest allies in the Middle East and a longtime peace partner with Israel, Jordan’s strategic importance continues to increase as tensions spread beyond Iran itself.
From a biblical prophecy perspective, these developments are noteworthy. Scripture foretells a coming one-world government led by the Antichrist (Revelation 13), yet it also identifies certain nations that will temporarily remain outside his direct control.
Daniel prophesied,
“But these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon” (Daniel 11:41).
Modern-day Jordan occupies much of the territory historically associated with Moab and Ammon, making this prophecy especially significant.
The Bible also portrays the United States as playing a protective role toward Israel prior to the Battle of Armageddon. Revelation 12:14 describes the woman, representing Israel, being given “two wings of a great eagle” to escape the dragon’s persecution. The eagle’s wings represent the United States of America.
Today’s close alliance between America, Israel, and Jordan serves as another reminder that God foresaw these relationships long before they developed on the world stage.
While the prophetic landscape will ultimately culminate in a global government under the Beast (i.e., the Antichrist), the current alliances described in today’s headlines continue to align remarkably with the framework outlined in Scripture.
