IDF kills Iran’s Ali Larijani, Basij commander in largest targeted strikes since Khamenei

Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, was killed overnight in a targeted Israeli airstrike inside Iran, according to confirmation Tuesday from the Israel Defense Forces and Defense Minister Israel Katz.
The official acknowledgment followed earlier reports from multiple sources who told The Jerusalem Post that Larijani had been the intended target in what is being described as the most consequential targeted killing since the death of Ali Khamenei.
In a statement, the military characterized Larijani as “the de facto leader of the Iranian terror regime.”
