Finland’s New Digital ID

Proving one’s identity is set to become possible next year through a digital identification app available for smartphones and tablets. Finland’s government has justified its legislative proposal that could see the app introduced by 2023. The app claims that it will make everyday life, from shopping to dealing with authorities to using services, a lot smoother. Digital identification is part of a wider “digital compass” project for digital transformation by 2030.
