China’s Move to Rule the World?

China’s Move to Rule the World?China is increasingly positioning itself as a leading architect of a new global order. A recent policy paper from Beijing outlines its vision for reshaping international institutions, expanding its influence in global governance, and offering alternatives to the Western-led world system. While China has demonstrated growing economic and diplomatic power, questions remain about whether it possesses the resources and international support necessary to transform its ambitions into reality.

The article highlights China’s efforts to expand its role in international organizations, strengthen alliances across the Global South, and challenge existing structures dominated by the United States and its allies. Beijing presents itself as a champion of a more multipolar world, seeking greater influence over the rules and institutions that govern international affairs. However, many observers question whether China can sustain the enormous financial, military, and diplomatic commitments required to lead such a transformation.

From a prophetic perspective, it is clear that many nations are striving to shape the emerging global order. Scripture foretells a final world government that will arise shortly before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Daniel 7 identifies four major prophetic powers symbolized as beasts: the lion (Great Britain), the bear (Russia), the four-headed leopard (Germany), and the ten-horned beast, representing a European coalition from which the Antichrist will emerge. The Eagle’s Wings (America) that separate from the Lion (Great Britain) are not a part of the final global one world government of the Antichrist, but instead is found protecting Israel until the battle of Armageddon and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 13 reveals these same prophetic powers merging into a single global governing system. The lion, bear, leopard, and ten-horned beast are depicted as components of one final world-ruling entity that will dominate much of the earth under the leadership of the Antichrist. Some have speculated that China could be represented by the dragon mentioned in Revelation 13; however, Revelation 12:9 plainly identifies the dragon as Satan himself rather than a human nation. The dragon (Satan) empowers the final world government but does not appear to represent China.

This understanding aligns with Daniel 2, where the ten toes (which represent the same ten kings and ten horns of Rev. 13) of Nebuchadnezzar’s image symbolize a revived European-centered system that ultimately becomes the dominant political structure of the last days. According to these prophecies, Europe—not China—will provide the political foundation from which the Antichrist rises to global prominence.

This raises an important question: if China is not destined to occupy a dominant role in the final world government, what becomes of its current ambitions? Revelation 9:13-21 prophesies a coming Sixth Trumpet War involving a massive military conflict that will claim one-third of mankind. Billions will likely die in nuclear exchanges from a war that is instigated along the Euphrates River. While Scripture does not specifically name China in this prophecy, some have suggested that major Asian powers could be significantly affected by these future events.

As nations compete for influence in an increasingly interconnected world, China’s desire to shape the future global order is evident. Yet prophecy indicates that despite the ambitions of Beijing, Washington, Moscow, or any other world capital, the final world government will not be led by China. The prophetic Scriptures point instead to a European-led system (Dan. 2) that will ultimately dominate the international community prior to the return of Jesus Christ.
