25 Biblical Reasons We Believe in a Post-Tribulation Rapture
The Bible clearly teaches a post-tribulation rapture—when Jesus Christ will return to gather His Church after the Great Tribulation, not before. Despite popular theories, Scripture reveals a single Second Coming, a unified resurrection, and a Church that endures until the end. This article outlines 25 biblical reasons why Endtime Ministries firmly holds to this truth.
At Endtime Ministries, we take our prophetic worldview directly from the Word of God—not from tradition or popular theology. That’s why we boldly proclaim what Scripture plainly teaches: the Rapture of the Church will take place after the Great Tribulation.
Here are 25 biblical reasons why:
1. Jesus Said the Rapture Happens After the Tribulation
In Matthew 24:29-31, Jesus makes it crystal clear: the gathering of His elect takes place immediately after the tribulation. The “elect” always refers to the Church in the New Testament—not unbelieving Jews (see Romans 11:7; Matthew 24:22, 24).
2. The Rapture and Second Coming Are the Same Event
1 Thessalonians 4:13–17 and 1 Corinthians 15:50–54 describe Jesus returning with a shout and trumpet blast—at the last trump, which is the Second Coming (Revelation 11:15–18).
3. The Antichrist Is Revealed Before the Rapture
2 Thessalonians 2:3 tells us plainly that “that day shall not come” until the “man of sin be revealed.”
4. There Are Not Two Sets of Saints
Revelation 7’s “great multitude” who come out of the Great Tribulation are not some new group. They’re the Church who went through it.
5. The First Resurrection Happens After the Tribulation
Revelation 20:4–6 says those killed during the mark of the beast period are part of the first resurrection, debunking the idea of a resurrection seven years earlier.
6. The Parable of the Wheat and Tares Shows One Harvest
Matthew 13:30 says the tares (wicked) are gathered first. The righteous and the wicked are harvested together, not in separate events.
7. “Remain” Means “Survive”
The word “remain” in 1 Thessalonians 4:15 is the Greek perileipo, meaning survive. Believers are surviving through the peril of the Tribulation.

8. The Antichrist Makes War with the Saints
Revelation 13:7 describes the Antichrist warring against saints of all nations—not just Jews.
9. Jesus Comes as a Thief at Armageddon, Not Before
Revelation 16:15 says, “Behold, I come as a thief”—right before Armageddon, not years earlier.
10. The “Thief in the Night” Won’t Surprise the Church
1 Thessalonians 5:4 assures us that believers will not be overtaken by that day. It’s not secret to us—just to the world.
11. The Great Tribulation Is Not God’s Wrath
Jesus said in Matthew 24:29 the signs of God’s wrath (sun, moon, stars going dark) come after the Tribulation. God’s wrath and the Tribulation are separate.
12. The Great Tribulation Is Satan’s Wrath
Revelation 12:12 describes the devil pouring out his wrath on the earth because he knows his time is short. Satan persecutes the Church—not God.
13. God’s Wrath Comes After the Tribulation
1 Thessalonians 5:9 says we’re not appointed to wrath. We agree! But the wrath of God starts after the Tribulation ends.
14. The “Two Phases” of the Second Coming Is Unsupported
Titus 2:13 and 1 Peter 1:7 both describe the Church waiting for the Glorious Appearing, not a secret rapture seven years earlier.
15. Revelation Is Not Chronological
Revelation 6 (Sixth Seal), 11 (Seventh Trumpet), and 16 (Seventh Vial) all describe the same event—the Second Coming. Revelation is layered, not linear.
16. The Holy Ghost Will Still Be Present
2 Thessalonians 2:7 doesn’t prove the Holy Ghost is removed. The Two Witnesses and the end-time revival (Revelation 7) are powered by the Spirit.
17. You Can’t Be Born Again Without the Holy Ghost
Revelation’s revival proves people are Born Again during the Tribulation. That requires the Holy Ghost to be present.
18. There’s No Seven-Year Tribulation in Scripture
Every time frame given for the Tribulation is 3.5 years—1260 days, 42 months, or “time, times, and half a time” (Daniel 7:25; Revelation 13:5).
19. Revelation 4:1 Is Not the Rapture
“Come up hither” simply means John is being shown future events. It has nothing to do with the rapture of the Church.
20. Revelation 3:10 Is About the Church in Philadelphia
Like Revelation 2:10 (10 days of tribulation for Smyrna), this was a local message, not a universal rapture promise.
21. Noah Was Protected Through the Flood, Not Removed
Matthew 24:37 shows God preserving Noah through the judgment—not taking him out of the world.

22. The Saints Receive Rewards at the Seventh Trumpet
Revelation 11:18 says the time to “give reward unto the saints” is at the Seventh Trumpet—not a pre-tribulation event.
23. The Saints Are Present at Jesus’ Return
2 Thessalonians 1:7–10 shows Jesus being glorified in His saints at His Second Coming—not after a 7-year absence.
24. The Saints Are Present During the Antichrist’s Reign
Daniel 7:21, 25 and Revelation 13:7 all show the saints being overcome by the Antichrist during the Tribulation.
25. One Simultaneous Event: Rapture + Second Coming
Revelation 19 combines the Marriage of the Lamb, the saints clothed in white linen, and Jesus’ return at Armageddon. The raptured Church becomes Christ’s heavenly army.
The Verdict: Scripture Speaks for Itself
The Bible does not support a secret, pre-tribulation rapture. Instead, it proclaims a glorious, victorious return of Jesus Christ, when the Church is gathered to Him at His coming, right after enduring and overcoming the Tribulation.
The time to prepare is now. We don’t fear the Tribulation—we stand firm, filled with the Holy Ghost, and looking forward to the day when we’ll meet Him in the air.
