Knowledge Shall Increase: Daniel’s Prophecy Is Unfolding Before Our Eyes

Daniel 12 gives one of the clearest signs of the end time: knowledge would increase, and many would run to and fro.

For most of human history, travel moved at the speed of a horse, a ship or a man’s own feet. Communication traveled by letter, messenger or word of mouth. But in just over a century, the world has been transformed by automobiles, airplanes, computers, satellites, smartphones, the internet and artificial intelligence.

What once took months now takes hours. What once took weeks to communicate now happens instantly across the world.

Daniel saw it thousands of years ago.

The Explosion of Knowledge

Daniel 12:4 says, “Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”

That prophecy is no longer difficult to imagine. It is the world we live in every day.

Billions of people now travel vast distances every year. Global communications reach nearly every nation. Information that once required years of study in a seminary library is now available on a phone in seconds.

This increase is not limited to science and technology. The Amplified Bible points to “the knowledge of the purpose of God” increasing in the time of the end.

That is exactly what we are seeing.

Bible Prophecy Is Being Unsealed

God told Daniel to seal the book until the time of the end. Daniel did not fully understand what he was writing. The apostles did not fully understand it either. But God promised the understanding would come at the appointed time.

Daniel 12:3 says those who are wise will shine like the brightness of heaven, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever.
