World War III Closer Than Ever

The Prophecy

“Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.” (Revelation 9:14-16)

The Fulfillment

The “Sixth Trumpet War” which results in the death of “a third of mankind” begins when four angels are loosed in the region of the Euphrates River. The nations touched by the Euphrates River (Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran) are all in conflict with Israel. The year 2024 was a year of increasing regional hostilities setting the stage for this coming conflict.

Israeli Foreign Minister: ‘We’re in the Middle of World War III’

At the beginning of 2024, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz proclaimed World War III against radical Islamists had already begun. “We’re in the middle of World War III against radical Islam, whose tentacles are already in Europe,” he said. Katz explained that Israel was at the forefront of a war which set moderate Arab states against Iran. Katz added that releasing the 129 hostages in Gaza, who had been seized in the Hamas-led attack on Oct. 7, 2023, was his top priority goal.[i]

Putin: ‘One Step Away’ from World War III

Later in March 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin reminded reporters of the dangers of nuclear warfare, warning that any direct conflict between Russia and the NATO forces would bring the world dangerously close to a full-scale World War III. Moscow’s relations with the West have not been as tense since the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. After he claimed victory in an election, winning nearly 88 percent of the vote, Putin held a press conference and turned his attention to those who “want to intimidate us.” He said such a move “has not worked now and will not work in the future. Never.” Putin asserted he has never deemed it necessary to employ nuclear weapons in Ukraine, although a direct conflict between Russia and NATO could not be ruled out.[ii]

Iran Launches its First Direct Military Attack Against Israel

International tensions also dominated the headlines in April when Iran vowed to punish Israel for an airstrike which killed members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. On April 13, 2024, Iran launched its first direct military attack on Israel, firing over 100 bomb-laden drones and later ballistic missiles. Israel intercepted most projectiles using advanced defense systems with support from the U.S. The attack followed tensions over an Israeli airstrike in Syria that killed Iranian generals. The U.N. and global leaders condemned Iran’s actions, warning of regional escalation. In response, Israel heightened its defenses and the U.S. reinforced its military presence in the region, affirming unwavering support for Israel. Consequently, Israel had to close its airspace and residents in high-risk areas were advised to stay near shelters.`

Iran Weeks Away from Building a Nuke

The head of the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency revealed at the end of April 2024 that Iran was just weeks, not months away from having enough fissionable material to make a nuclear bomb. International Atomic Energy Agency Chief Rafael Mariano Grossi told Deutsche Welle that Iran was “weeks rather than months” away from having enough enriched uranium to construct a nuclear weapon. He made the distinction between having enough weapons grade Uranium and building a nuclear weapon. “But that does not mean that Iran has or would have a nuclear weapon in that space of time,” he interjected. “A functional nuclear warhead requires many other things independently from the production of the fissile material.”[iii]

South China Sea, Sleepwalking Toward WWIII

In March 2024, the Philippines Armed Forces charged that one of its supply boats was “severely damaged” as it was hit by Chinese Coast Guard water cannons in a contested area of the South China Sea. There has been an increase in violent incidents in recent months between China and the Philippines, a United States ally. New Chinese regulations, known as the Administrative Law Enforcement Procedures for Coast Guard Agencies, came into force on June 15, 2024. According to these new rules, foreigners suspected of violating entry and exit control may be detained by China for up to 30 days for investigation. Even so, at the Shangri-la Security Dialogue in Singapore held at the end of May 2024, Ferdinand Marcos Jr., president of the Philippines, stated “If a Filipino citizen was killed by a willful act, that is very close to what we define as an act of war.” If China intends to enforce this regulation and detains Philippine nationals venturing into waters it claims in the South China Sea, it could trigger a direct military confrontation with the United States.[iv]

Erdoǧan Urges Anti-Israel Alliance

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoǧan told local media on Oct. 12, 2024, that Russia, Iran and Syria should do more to protect Syria’s “territorial integrity.” Syrian Arab News Agency had accused Israel of carrying out an airstrike near Damascus, Syria in October 2024. A Syrian military source asserted, “The Israeli enemy launched an aerial aggression with three missiles from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting a residential building at the densely populated Mezzah neighborhood in Damascus, claiming the lives of seven civilians, among them women and children, injuring eleven others in initial toll and causing huge material damages to properties.”[v]

Russia’s Deadly Barrage Hits Over Half of Ukraine

Russia battered much of Ukraine on Aug. 26, 2024, in attacks President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described as “vile.” Russia fired scores of missiles and drones that killed four people, injured more than a dozen and damaged energy facilities. The attack involved a barrage of over one hundred missiles and just as many drones which began around midnight and continued through daybreak.  It appeared to be Russia’s biggest bombardment in weeks. President Volodymyr Zelensky said the attack targeted critical civilian infrastructure,” and added that most of the country was targeted.[vi]

World War III? Ukraine to Fire US Rockets Deep into Russia

U.S. President Joe Biden authorized Ukraine to begin firing U.S.-supplied long-range missiles deep into Russia on Nov. 17, 2024. This policy shift meant Kyiv would then be able to use Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) for long-range attacks. Hungary’s foreign minister, Péter Szijjártó, posted on social media that “the supporters of the war in Washington and Brussels have launched a final, desperate attack on the new reality,” warning of “the extension of the war in Ukraine to the world.” Hungary is a member of NATO. Russia had been warning the West for months about how such a decision would raise the risk of a confrontation with the U.S.-led NATO alliance. The Biden White House had resisted the use of U.S. rockets to launch strikes against Russian territory due to fears of escalation but Moscow’s decision to deploy North Korean soldiers to Ukraine had reportedly changed the administration’s position. This significant U.S. policy shift came as there was concern about the level of support the next Trump administration would be willing to give Ukraine.[vii]

LGBTQ+ Agenda 2024

The Prophecy

“Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.” (Luke 17:28-30)

Fulfillment

Attacks on Religious Freedom, Traditional Values

In 2024, LGBTQ+ activists sought affirmation and celebration of their lifestyles while pushing back against critics. Many Christians saw this as an attack on traditional family values, religious freedom and the sanctity of life. Activists leveraged legal, medical, entertainment, education and even religious institutions to promote their agenda which critics argued encouraged rebellion against traditional values under the guise of “sexual freedom.”

Methodists Affirms LGBTQ+, Lose 1 Million Members

The United Methodist Church lost more than a million members in a single day on May 28, 2024, when a large West African conference voted to leave the organization because of its acceptance of LGBTQ+ clergy and marriages. The U.S. – based United Methodist Church had voted in May 2024 to repeal the decades-long ban on LGBTQ clergy and marriages, which triggered a mass departure of congregations from the denomination around the world.[viii]

Five Christian Denominations Embrace LGBTQ+

The United Methodist Church is not alone in suffering the consequences of embracing woke theology. The Korean Methodist Church with 1.5 million members may soon be on its way out of the UMC. The conservative faction within the Korean Methodist Church responded to the controversy generated at the general conference with this rebuke: “Homosexuality cannot be accepted until the Lord returns. This is not an emotional issue but a matter of unchangeable truth. Homosexuality is clearly a sin.” Denominations across America are changing their positions on LGBTQ matters and condoning gay clergy and gay marriages. An article from Glenn Beck lists five examples of Christian denominations whose teachings have been compromised by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer doctrine: United Methodist Church (UMC), Presbyterian Church (U.S.A), The Episcopal Church, United Church of Christ (UCC) and Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).[ix]

United Church of Christ OUT LOUD Pride

Gender & Sexuality Justice Ministries of the United Church of Christ announced the release of their Love is Louder: Love OUT LOUD Pride resources in May 2024. The resources curated “for Pride Worship and LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Worship” are designed to enable congregations to “love our neighbors as ourselves,” with particular emphasis on helping siblings of “LGBTQIA+” individuals. The Love is Louder article advertised that the resources would be released in time for June LGBTQ Pride Month. “Our resource kit will release early May featuring liturgy, prayer, our 2nd Love is Louder Toolkit focusing on Queer Theology & Expansive Language, June event offerings and more!”[x]

Military’s DEI Obsession Hinders Readiness

The Federalist reported in July 2024 that the military’s enthusiastic acceptance of leftist ideology is impeding its ability to respond to explosive environments. The recently published report, “Identity in the Trenches: The Fatal Impact of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion on U.S. Military Readiness,” was written by Will Thibeau, Director of the American Military Project at the Claremont Institute. The analysis examines how the military’s heightened obsession with racial and gender politics is contributing to the growing problems of overall readiness and ability to respond to an increasingly volatile geopolitical environment. Thibeau asserted the Department of Defense has succumbed to “a dangerous ideology: that of group quotas or forced outcome equality for identity groups based on race and sex.”[xi]

Affirmation or Apostasy?

LGBTQ+ activists continue pushing for acceptance and celebration of diverse sexual behaviors often at the expense of religious freedoms. Critics argue this silences opposition, prevents people from embracing their Creator’s intended joy and leads to despair and negative outcomes. Opposition to “alternative lifestyles” is increasingly censored and ridiculed. The question remains: Will future generations see traditional families and religious beliefs supported or will embracing Gospel values become a criminal offense?

One-World Government

The Prophecy

“Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.” (Daniel 7:23)

Fulfillment

Biblical prophecy foretells the rise of a one-world government with the Antichrist ruling for 3 ½ years before Jesus’ Second Coming. A 10-nation confederacy in Europe, emerging from a revived Holy Roman Empire, will pave the way for the Antichrist’s rise to power. He will broker a seven-year agreement with Israel and the Palestinians, marking a key step toward the prophesied New World Order.

WHO Finalizing Pandemic Agreement Tyranny

World Health Organization Member States agreed in March 2024 to resume negotiations aimed at finalizing a pandemic agreement which would enable all countries of the world to be better prepared for an effective response to future pandemics. The planned April 2024 resumption of global pandemic negotiations was seen as a critical milestone leading up to the 77th World Health Assembly which convened in May 2024.[xii] One of the most insightful criticisms of the draft of the proposed pandemic agreement was posted to the Spiked website by Molly Kingsley on May 8, 2024. “This draft agreement would have granted the WHO the power to issue legally binding mandates to member states and their citizens during pandemics,” Ms. Kingsley stated. “This would include imposing lockdowns, quarantines and mandatory vaccinations. This threatened to fundamentally redefine the relationship between nation states and the WHO.” She also noted, “The initial pandemic agreement plan (or ‘zero draft’) was so controversial when it was published in 2023 that much of the negotiation process has since been conducted in secret.” When elected representatives around the world began to see that the WHO’s plans posed a clear threat to national decision-making autonomy, they called on their leaders to reject the proposed pandemic agreement as a threat to national sovereignty.[xiii] 

All GOP Senators Reject Pandemic Agreement

At the beginning of May 2024, the entire Republican Senate conference called on U.S. President Biden to reject agreements that would expand the authority of the World Health Organization. Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and all 48 other Republican senators sent a letter to President Biden, stating, “We strongly urge you not to join any pandemic related treaty, convention or agreement being considered” at the 77th World Health Assembly. The Republican senators emphasized that any such agreement would be a treaty, which they argued requires “the concurrence of two-thirds of the Senate.”[xiv]

WHO Fails to Secure Global Pandemic Agreement

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization announced there was no deal on May 26, 2024, after his proposed global pandemic agreement was rejected. This followed two years of closed-door meetings in Geneva, Switzerland. Roland Driece, co-chair of WHO’s negotiating board for the agreement, acknowledged that delegates were unable to deliver an agreed proposal. Many world leaders had disagreed with the rudimentary principle that unelected, self-appointed, unaccountable, health bureaucrats could have the right to somehow decide major global decisions on government policies.[xv]

ICC Threatens United States Senators

The International Criminal Court had overextended its authority when its prosecutor asked for arrest warrants against Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. As if that was not going far enough, the prosecutor’s office threatened to prosecute criticism of the prosecutor himself. After the ICC prosecutor had called for the arrest warrants of top Middle East officials, 12 United States Senators wrote to the ICC, charging, “The United States will not tolerate politicized attacks by the ICC on our allies. Target Israel and we will target you. If you move forward with the measures indicated in the report, we will move to end all American support for the ICC … ” The ICC prosecutor’s office responded in a tweet, posting, “When individuals threaten to retaliate against the Court or Court personnel … such threats, even when not acted upon, may also constitute an offence against the administration of justice under Art. 70 of the Rome Statute … ”[xvi] Another global institution that is also responsible for overextending its authority is the United Nations.

Trump Challenges Globalism

The first Trump administration was clearly against the formation of the New World Order. It defunded the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees and pulled out of the United Nations Human Rights Council. It also withdrew from UNESCO and discontinued negotiations on the Global Compact for Migration. In addition, the United States became the first nation to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement. Former President Trump, now President, has always been a fierce critic of the United Nations. “We reject the ideology of globalism, and we embrace the doctrine of patriotism,” Trump said. “We will never surrender America’s sovereignty to an unelected, unaccountable, global bureaucracy.” Also, under Trump’s leadership, the United States withdrew from the Iran Nuclear Deal, which Trump had described as a “disaster,” “the worst deal ever” and so “terrible” that it could lead to “a nuclear holocaust.” Most recently, the United Nations has been planning for the return of the Donald Trump presidency and subsequent cuts to U.S. funding of the world body.[xvii]

UN Empowers Itself to World Government

Globalists have dreamed of a world government and constitutionalists have feared it for 80 years even before the nation rejected the League of Nations, according to Harold Pease, Ph.D., posting to Liberty Under Fire. The globalists have made name changes over the years which only partially reveal their true motives such as “internationalists, world government, the establishment, New World Order, World Order, and now globalism,” Dr. Pease wrote in October 2024. “Biden was always a prominent globalist, even publishing his loyalty to it in 1992 (“How I Learned to Love the New World Order,” by Senator Joe Biden, June 16, 2021, LibertyUnderFire.org ),” according to Dr. Pease. The United Nations adopted a document called “The Pact for the Future.” “The problem with the “Pact for the Future,” says Dr. Pease, “is that without defining an emergency, the U.N. gets to decide what an emergency is which gives it unlimited power. National sovereignty is destroyed. A world government, with the only limitations being those it imposes on itself, rules.”[xviii]

One-World Government Forming Now

The prophesied end-time government will be controlled by the Antichrist with satanic power and authority granted by the Devil (Revelation 13:2). Institutions like the World Bank, WTO and WHO are seen as building blocks of this one-world government, forming a structure of global control that will bring oppression and fulfill a 2,000-year-old prophecy.

Holy Roman Empire Reborn

The Prophecy

“And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed … ” (Daniel 2:41-44).

“And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.” (Revelation 13:3).

The Fulfillment

The Bible prophesies the Holy Roman Empire will be reborn just before the Second Coming of Jesus to the Earth. That was fulfilled on Nov. 3, 2009, when the 27 nations of the European Union adopted the first-ever European constitution. (See Endtime’s DVD, “Holy Roman Empire Reborn”)

After World War III, the center of world power will shift from the United States to the European Union. The Antichrist and his religious partner, the False Prophet, will emerge from the European Union to lead the world government for 3 ½ years. Their reign will end with the Battle of Armageddon and the Second Coming of Jesus.

Macron Discusses Nuclear European Defense

As early as 2018, French President Emmanuel Macron had warned that Europeans could not be protected without a “true, European army.” In April 2024, he said he was willing to discuss using French nuclear warheads as part of a “credible European defense” against threats from Russia. France has about 300 nuclear warheads and is the only nuclear power in the European Union.[xix]

Charlemagne Prize Awarded to Europe’s Leading Rabbi

In May 2024, Chief Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, President of the Conference of European Rabbis, was awarded the Charlemagne Prize in Aachen, Germany. Goldschmidt, who served as Moscow’s chief rabbi for over 30 years, fled Russia in 2022 after refusing to support the Ukraine invasion. The prize honoring efforts toward European unification highlights Jewish life as integral to Europe and denounces anti-Semitism. It commemorates Charlemagne, founder of the Holy Roman Empire and unifier of Western Europe after the fall of the Roman Empire.

Macron Tells Young People to Reject Nationalism, Embrace EU

French President Emmanuel Macron made a state visit to Germany in May 2024, the first in 24 years and began by warning against nations acting in their own interest. The leaders of France and Germany both put on a united front, as both led globalist-left governments and both were facing a damaging vote in less than two weeks, as the European Parliament was reelected continent-wide. Macron told German young people to sublimate feelings of national pride into the European Union.[xx]

Macron Calls for a New International Order

During a speech at the Sant’Egidio International Meeting for Peace in Paris on Sept. 22, 2024, France’s President Emmanuel Macron called for a “new international order” that would replace the current “unjust order.” Newsweek reported that Macron said, “We try to walk with this European political community but we will have to think of a new form of organization of Europe and rethink our relationship to Russia.” He continued in his address to the peace meeting, “In the same way as you said we have to build a new international order, is undoubtedly the greatest challenge of the moment because our order today is incomplete and unjust.”[xxi]

UK’s Path to Rejoin European Union will be Slow

The U.K.’s post-Brexit fallout included the loss of 40,000 jobs and warnings of national security risks, leading some to advocate rejoining EU institutions — a process that could take over a decade. Politician Jacob Rees-Mogg claimed the government was quietly initiating steps toward EU reentry, citing efforts to “reset” relations. The Antichrist will rise out of a 10-nation confederacy from the EU, enforcing global control before Jesus’ return to establish His eternal Kingdom.

One-World Religion

The Prophecy

“And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” (Revelation 13:12-15)

Fulfillment

Interfaith activities and world religion initiatives continued in 2024 to lay the foundation for the international religious community to come together into a more “tolerant, socially conscious” society. This kind of society will be primed to welcome a charismatic religious leader, the False Prophet, who will usher the world into the arms of the Antichrist.

Pope Brings the World Together at WEF 2024

An effort was underway in January 2024 to unite the world into a political-religious organization, under the pretext of fostering social cohesion, fraternity and reconciliation. The World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, was once again bringing world governments together as delegates from governments and international organizations, billionaires, entrepreneurs, experts, academics, religious organizations, NGOs and media outlets gathered. The 54th annual meeting of the WEF assembled under the motto “Rebuilding Trust” on Jan. 15, 2024. The goal of the 2024 session went beyond uniting world governments. The objective became the merging of governments, businesses and social organizations around the common theme of joining with the Roman Catholic Church to promote peace and cooperation. Unfortunately, solidarity with Rome’s “universal fraternity” is a man-made scheme destined for failure and eternal destruction, along with the man of sin, the Antichrist.[xxii] The Vatican is not the only institution aspiring to become the moral compass guiding the future of mankind. Big business is also starting to become interested in bringing together diverse religions, political views and lifestyles.

Millions Leave Organized Religion but Seek Community

Inclusive and many times non-religious collectives or contemplative communities have replaced traditional churches in the lives of millions of Americans. They may meet in a building or online, often just to socialize with other people who have similar beliefs. It has been like an exodus from mainstream religion to communities in which Americans are finding a home. Nine out of 10 Americans identified as Christian in the early 1990s, but by 2023, that figure had dropped to 63%. Eight out of 10 adults say religion’s role in American life is diminishing, according to a 2024 Pew Research Center survey. In all about 40 million American adults have stopped attending church in the past 25 years. Many former churchgoers have found fault with pompous or theatrical church services, while others struggle to reconcile church teachings with personal hot-button issues like reproductive rights or LGBTQ inclusion. Nevertheless, others who are leaving mainstream religion behind still hope to find a community to help them navigate life’s challenges. One Texas megachurch must have thought so highly of their navigational skills that they offered a money-back guarantee.[xxiii]

Numerous Accurate Fulfillments

The preceding examples of ongoing biblical prophecy fulfillments give ample evidence of the reliability of the Scriptures. The Bible is, after all, the Word of God who is perfect. In 2 Peter 1:20-21, (AMP) it confirms that, “ … no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of or comes from one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.” Also, Bible prophecy has always been proven historically dependable. For example, Jesus predicted the destruction of the Jewish temple 40 years before it took place (Matthew 24:1-2). In another example, the Bible foretold the reestablishment of Israel with Jewish people returning to the land in Isaiah 11:12, Jeremiah 29:14, 32:36-44 and in Ezekiel 37:11-14. The Jewish people have not only miraculously survived but have returned to their biblical homeland. Israel became a Jewish state in 1948, with more than nine million Jewish people now living in the Holy Land once again. 

Challenging Future Foretold

The Bible has proven to be dependable through numerous accurately fulfilled prophecies. If the Bible can be trusted, then the One who inspired it can be trusted also. Some of the major prophecies to look forward to in our near future include the Final Seven Years (Revelation 6-12), the Second Coming of Christ (Revelation 19), the Millennial kingdom (Revelation 20:1-6), the final judgment (Revelation 20:7-15) and the new Heavens and the new Earth (Revelation 21-22). Put your trust in the God of the Bible and allow Jesus Christ to lead you through these challenging and exhilarating times just ahead.
