Is Iran Paving the Path to World War III? A Biblical Prophecy in the Making
This article explores the possibility of Iran triggering World War III, based on biblical prophecy, specifically Revelation 9:13-15, which describes a war originating in the Euphrates River region. A quick glance of the entire biblical prophetic timeline reveals World War III, along with the Israeli/Palestinian peace agreement, as one of the next two prophecies to occur. The war is found in Revelation 9:13-15 (NKJV):
“Then the sixth angel sounded: And I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” So, the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind. The New Living Translation states: “ … to kill one-third of all the people on earth.” The New English Translation says, “ … to kill a third of humanity.”
This passage foretells a war that will originate in the Euphrates River region (Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran), resulting in the deaths of one-third of the world’s population. It will be WWIII.
I’m not sure which of these nations will start the war. However, we certainly have to consider Iran’s ongoing efforts to annihilate Israel and the United States as a possible precursor.
Iran’s leadership aims to destroy the existing global order, dominate the Middle East, overthrow Western democracy, eradicate Israel and impose Shia Islam worldwide.
Iran’s aggressive actions, such as the proxy war and the recent large-scale missile and drone attack on Israel, are part of a longstanding strategy to gain regional dominance and promote its revolutionary ideology.
Since 1979, Iran’s government has declared an existential war against the United States, labeling America the “Great Satan” and Israel the “Little Satan.” The Iranian people have endured 45 years under the strict and fanatic rule of the Mullahs, driven by an apocalyptic Shia ideology. This belief system awaits the return of the Twelfth Imam or Mahdi (their messiah), a figure thought to emerge and establish legitimate Islamic rule after vanquishing evil. Ayatollah Khomeini adapted this myth, urging Muslims to actively combat perceived evil (destroy Israel and the United States) to hasten the Imam’s return, which continues to influence Iran’s aggressive policies.
This apocalyptic ideology drives Iran’s leadership, making them exceptionally dangerous as they believe it is their duty not just to prepare for the apocalypse but to instigate it.
This strategy, rooted in the vision of Ayatollah Khomeini, seeks to dismantle Zionism, capitalism and communism, replacing them with an Islamic order. Iran’s actions have consistently followed this ideological mission.
Iranians are so indoctrinated with this ideology that mourners chanted “Death to America” at the funeral service for Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi who died in a helicopter crash on May 19.
Iran continues to be the leading state sponsor of terrorism, believes they are religiously bound to destroy Israel and the United States and appears to be inching toward the development of a nuclear bomb.
I can assure you Israel is ready, willing and well able to go to war to prevent this from happening.
This is the specific region Scripture foretells WWIII will originate from. I do not know whether it will be Iran or one of the other nations that ignite the war. However, it is prophesied to occur soon and the prophecies always come to pass.
