Born Again, Now What? – 11/24/2024
Dave Robbins: Once Peter
preached the New Testament plan
of salvation in Acts chapter 2,
thousands were saved and then
had to learn how to be
Christians after that.
It was all brand new to them.
There are four things that are
absolutely necessary for a
Spirit-led life and yet most
people don’t understand them.
We will discuss doctrine,
fellowship, the breaking of
bread and prayers, preparing us
for the soon return of Jesus
Christ on this edition of the
“Endtime Show.”

Dave: Good afternoon everybody,
I’m Dave Robbins with
Endtime Ministries.
I do thank you for joining me on
this edition of the
“Endtime Show.”
You know, we all know here that
on the “Endtime Show” that Jesus
Christ is coming soon, right?
It’s very apparent, I can prove
it a million ways using
Bible prophecy.
The question is, are you
prepared to meet him when
he returns?
Are you ready to meet him?
That’s the question.
And that’s our goal is to
prepare people for the soon
return of Jesus Christ.
So I’m gonna talk to you about a
subject today or actually four
different subjects that most
people need to be aware of and
be practicing in their life, but
many people don’t understand
them and cannot explain them.
And so I’m going to focus my
attention and hopefully your
attention on these four topics
today because I don’t know if
I’ve ever done a program on this
before and I don’t know that
I’ve ever heard my father-in-law
Irvin Baxter do it as well.
So here we go, Peter, the
apostle Peter at that time, he
preached the New Testament Plan
of Salvation in Acts chapter 2.
Then in Acts chapter 2, verse 41
and 42 it says, “Then they that
gladly received the word were
baptized: and the same day there
were added unto them about three
thousand souls.
And they continued steadfastly
in the apostles’ doctrine,
fellowship, breaking of bread
and in prayers.”
So this passage gives us the
four things the apostles and
their disciples, their converts
continued in afterward and these
four things are necessary for a
spiritual life.
And if we want to really let’s
say, encapsulate what being a
Christian is really all about,
here’s the four things, the
apostles’ doctrine, fellowship,
breaking of bread and prayers.
And we’re gonna talk about each
one of these areas and explain
what they really mean, what
they’re all about and how can I
apply them to my life.
How does this help me to be a
spiritual person?
Let’s talk about these
four necessities of every
Christian’s life and the Bible
says that when 3,000 people were
converted in the book of Acts
chapter 2, that they continued
steadfast seeing the apostles’
doctrine, fellowship, breaking
of bread and prayer.
So let’s start today because all
of us need to be applying these
to our life.
So what’s the apostles doctrine?
What in the world’s going on
here?
Well, in Hebrews chapter 6,
verse 1 through 2, it says,
“Therefore leaving the
principles of the doctrine of
Christ, let us go on unto
perfection; not laying again the
foundation of repentance from
dead works, faith toward God, of
the doctrines of baptisms.”
Plural with an s on the end.
“The laying on of hands, the
resurrection of the dead, and
eternal judgment.”
These people were saved and had
the principles of the doctrine
down pat.
And he’s urging them to leave
the principles of the doctrine
and go on to perfection.
So all of us need a clear
understanding of what the
Doctrine of Christ really is.
And perfection means obviously
to grow into the fullness of the
stature of Christ.
So these are the foundation, the
foundational doctrines
of Christianity.
The first step in coming to God
is to repent from works that
should die off from your life.
Repentance, to die to self and
to–repentance really me–not
just, “Lord, forgive me,” but
“I’m gonna change the way
I live.”
That’s true repentance.
I’m not gonna live the old
lifestyle I’m gonna change and
live a new lifestyle.
“Lord, forgive me for the things
I’ve done, but I’m
gonna change.”
That’s true repentance.
The Bible says the works of the
flesh are fornication, adultery,
lying, stealing, wrath,
jealousy, strife, things
like that.
These are the things that we lay
aside once we become part of
Jesus Christ and by being born
again.
Now you’re in the family of God,
can’t live like I always have
the rest of my life.
The doctrine of repentance from
dead works is one of the
foundational doctrines, okay?
Dying to self really
encapsulates this
entire concept.
We die to the flesh and no
longer live after the flesh.
But now we live after the
Spirit.
The Old Testament was fleshly
realities.
The New Testament is spiritual
realities.
And so Jesus Christ come to
transition us into a spirit
led life.
So we gotta get these doctrines
down.
Well, the first step to that–
first, “He that cometh to God
must first believe that he is–
that there is a God and he is a
rewarder of them that diligently
seek him.”
Then you start to say, “Okay,
now I know that there is a God
and wow, I’m living a sinful
lifestyle.
Lord, forgive me and I’m gonna
change.”
Second is our faith toward God.
What is our faith toward God?
Well, that he died, he was
buried, resurrected again on the
third day for us and through
accepting his death, burial and
resurrection, spiritually we’re
redeemed.
Our penalty for sin is–we’re
all born in sin shape and
iniquity, everybody
on the planet.
So there is a penalty for that.
The Bible says, “He that sinneth
is gonna die.”
Got to die, the law of sin and
death.
But our penalty for sin is paid
through the death of Jesus
Christ and we receive that when
we are baptized into
Jesus Christ.
The Bible says, “Know ye not,
that so many as of us were
baptized into Jesus Christ were
baptized into his death?
Therefore we are buried with him
by baptism unto death: that like
as Christ was raised from the
dead by the glory of the Father,
even so we also should walk in
the newness of life.”
That’s Romans chapter 6 verse 3
through 4, so when we are
baptized into his death, Jesus
Christ died, was buried and rose
again on the third day.
That was the act of Calvary.
When we’re baptized into his
death, our sins are remitted or
paid for, let’s say, and we
don’t owe that penalty anymore.
Jesus Christ paid that for us.
So that means we pass from death
to life.
We are delivered from the law of
sin and death.
Ezekiel 18:4.
And it says, “The soul that
sinneth, it has to die.”
So we’re translated into a new
law, the law of liberty
in Christ Jesus.
The Bible says, this is Romans
chapter 8, “The law of liberty
in Christ Jesus has made me free
from the law of sin and death.”
So we transition out of the Old
Testament.
Now we’re in the New Testament,
spiritual realities.
And that is what faith toward
God is all about.
That is the reason we can say,
“There is therefore now no
condemnation to them which are
in Christ Jesus.”
It’s Romans chapter 8 verse 1.
How do we get in Christ Jesus?
By being born again.
When we’re born again into
Christ Jesus, we are born into
the family of God.
Recently, I talked about sonship
defeated in that the loss of
sonship at Adam and Eve in the
Garden but the restoration of
sonship at Calvary, whereby when
you’re born again, you become a
son of God again.
And the Bible says that he came
to bring sons into glory.
There were no human sons in the
Old Testament until
Jesus Christ.
Now when we’re born again, we
can be sons of God, okay?
And what a promise.
I mean, this is–when you
understand some of these
principles and get these things
in your life, it’ll change your
entire life.
It did for me.
And I’ve known thousands of
people, tens of thousands of
people that it has done as well.
You say, “Oh, but Dave hold up
here we go.
You’re gonna start preaching
today and you don’t know what
I’ve done.”
I could absolutely care less of
what you’ve done in your life
and God could care less of what
you’ve done.
He came and died, was buried and
rose again to purchase a plan of
salvation for you.
And when he was on the cross, he
knew what kind of a person you
would be.
But yet he loved you enough to
die, be buried and raised again
and shed his blood for you.
So there’s no excuse.
Oh God can’t love me.
God loved you.
That’s why Calvary happened.
And so it doesn’t matter what
you’ve done.
I don’t care how dastardly the
deed was.
God loves you and
he wants to save you.
And that’s what all this
lesson’s for.
Doug Norvell: The Roman
government controlled the world,
so many people were looking
for a different Messiah,
a rescuing Messiah.
Remember the story of the woman
at the well, “The woman saith
unto him, ‘I know that Messiah
cometh, which is called Christ.’
And Jesus said unto her: ‘I that
speak unto thee am he.'”
Jesus very clearly stated that
he was God and that he was
the Messiah.
We’re even more blessed because
we haven’t seen those things,
but yet we believe.
When Jesus cried out, “My God,
my God, why hast thou
forsaken me?”
he knew every one of these
prophecies had to be fulfilled.
He said, “It is finished.”

Dave: So the third doctrine is
the doctrine of
baptisms, plural.
You say, “Well, hold on a
minute.
There this interesting scripture
back here in Ephesians chapter
4, verse 5, it says, ‘There’s
one Lord, one faith, and only
one baptism day.’
So what you’re saying
contradicts the Bible?”
No, it’s not what I’m saying.
The passage in Hebrews uses the
word baptisms, plural.
This is not contradicting the
other scripture because the one
baptism is Ephesians 4, it’s
referring to the one mode of
water baptism.
There is only one mode of
baptism used in the entire
New Testament.
The Bible teaches another
baptism, which is the baptism of
the Holy Spirit.
When Jesus talked to Nicodemus,
he said, “Nicodemus, you must be
born of the water and the
Spirit.”
So there is a water baptism and
that’s what they did all
throughout the New Testament and
there is a Spirit baptism, which
is what this scripture is
referring to.
The doctrine of baptisms,
plural, okay?
So they’re no con–there’s no
scriptures that contradict
each other.
And so, but a lot of people
would try to twist
things, right?
So that’s not what we’re doing
here.
There’s another doctrine that
refers to the laying on
of hands.
And well, by reading the book of
Acts, we know that the apostles
laid hands on people and
transferred to them the power of
the Holy Ghost.
The Bible teaches, “If there are
any sick among you, let them
come call for the elders of the
church and they will anoint them
with oil and lay hands upon
them.”
The prayer of faith shall save
the sick and the Lord shall
raise them up.
This is very biblical.
It’s very scriptural.
Some people like to make it out
to be weird hocus pocus type of
stuff, but go read your Bible.
It’s all in there.
Then there is the doctrine of
the resurrection of the dead.
There were people in Jesus’ day
who did not believe the dead
would raise.
But we have infallible and
irrefutable proof that the dead
do raise because Jesus rose from
the dead.
There were 500 people at one
time that saw him,
irrefutable proof.
The Pharisees and the high
priests, they paid large sums of
money to keep the soldiers quiet
concerning what happened at the
resurrection of Jesus Christ,
right?
They paid them to lie about it
and of course, none of it worked
because we have infallible proof
that Jesus rose from the dead.
Because he rose from the dead,
this gives all of us the same
hope that we too shall rise from
the dead,
should we go by the way of the
grave and that we can go into
eternal life at the time of the
Rapture.
Romans chapter 8, it should be
verse 11.
It says, “But if the Spirit of
him that raised Jesus from the
dead dwells in you, he that
raised Christ from the dead
shall also quicken your mortal
body by his Spirit that dwelleth
in you.”
At the time of the Rapture, the
Bible says the dead in Christ
shall rise first.
Then we who are alive and
remain, we’ll be caught up to
meet them in the air.
The resurrection of the dead,
your spirit will be united with
your immortal body.
That’s what will come out of the
grave and will go to be with the
Lord at the time of the Rapture.
So the–but if you don’t
understand these principles and
these concepts, then your
Christian walk, you can just
think you’re floating through
life and you know, but I mean,
once you get these doctrines and
these concepts that I’m gonna
talk about today, your Christian
walk takes on a whole
new perspective.
You look at it and you say, “Oh
my goodness.
Wow, I really understand this
stuff.”
Most people cannot explain the
apostles’ doctrine, fellowship
and breaking in bread and
prayers.
And I wanted to focus on it
today because I wanna make sure
that we are prepared for the
soon return of Jesus Christ.
But you can also live a happily,
a happy, fulfilled life until
that happens.
You say, “Well, we’re just gonna
go through hell on earth and
then Jesus is gonna come.”
Well, no, I live a great life
now.
I don’t live in fear.
I live, I’m happy, I’m
fulfilled, I got a great
marriage, I love what I do.
And why not, why shouldn’t you
be able to live like that?
It’s not just for a minister and
I’m talking about everybody
because my most of my life, I
was not a minister.
And so I know you can be happy
and live a great life before
Jesus comes.
And you say, “What about the
devil?”
I don’t care about the devil.
I’m not worried about the devil.
I’m full of the Holy Ghost.
The Bible says greater is he
that’s in me than he that’s in
the world.
So a lot of people get these
things twisted up and just
jumbled up in their mind because
Satan tries to confuse people.
Look, I’m not worried about
Satan.
I’m not worried about the
Antichrist.
I’m not worried about the world
government, the false prophet,
the world religion.
No, not concerned about that.
I’m concerned about building the
Kingdom of God.
And the Bible says, “The gates
of hell will not prevail against
the church.”
So we’re gonna be going to the
gates of hell, we’re gonna be
opening them up and we’re gonna
be pulling people out of that,
pulling people out of Satan’s
Kingdom, putting them in
God’s Kingdom.
Okay, you can tell I wanna get,
I wanna preach, let’s throw the
desk out of here and let’s get a
pulpit in here.
And actually, I don’t need a
pulpit, but let’s just,
let’s go.
You know what I’m saying?
I love this stuff because this
is Christianity 101 guys.
So the last of these six
principles, the principal
doctrines is the doctrine of
eternal judgment.
Now, look, I get it.
This is not a very popular
doctrine today in a lot
of churches.
When’s the last time that you
heard a message on hell?
Now, there are some churches
that still teach about it, but
there are some top churches that
will, you couldn’t pay the
preacher to talk about hell.
Think about it.
It’s not very popular.
When I was growing up man, they
taught hellfire and brimstone
and I mean, it was on.
My father-in-law, Irvin Baxter,
could hang you over the edge of
hell and just scare you to
death.
And the only reason I was scared
is because I wasn’t ready to
meet the Lord.
But I mean, the Bible says this
is one of the six principal
doctrines, eternal judgment.
It’s not very popular doctrine
today in our churches, but it is
a biblical doctrine and it
should be taught.
It’s one of the foundational
principal doctrines in the New
Testament church.
This doctrine teaches every
human being.
Listen closely.
I didn’t say all human beings
but rich people or all human
beings but the smart ones or all
human beings, except for the
ones that were born with a
certain pedigree.
This doctrine teaches that every
human being is gonna spend
eternity somewhere, either in
the glories of heaven with Jesus
Christ or there’s only two
places, or in the lake of fire
with Satan.
Now, my goal in this life is to
make sure that you are ready to
spend eternity with Jesus
Christ.
That’s the goal.
That is the goal of End Time
Ministries.
That’s One Source.
That’s everything we do, the
magazine, the Prophecy
Conferences, the radio,
television, all of the books,
the products, the Jerusalem
Prophecy College, all of the
balls that we have in the air.
It’s all devoted to, “I want to
go to heaven.
I want my family to go to heaven
and everybody that listens to
us, everybody I can get my hands
on.”
We wanna prepare people for the
soon return of Jesus Christ
because we’re preparing right
now for where we’re gonna
spend eternity.
That’s what it is.
And we don’t want one person to
go to the lake of fire.
The bad thing is the Bible says
many people are gonna go there
because many people will not pay
any attention to what I’m
teaching them right now, right?
They’re like, “I’m just, you
know, I wanna live my life.
I wanna focus on all this other
stuff and not this.”
No listen, this is what–this
type of teaching right here was
what’s gonna get you to heaven.
And the–but a lot of ministers,
they don’t want to talk about
the lake of fire or hell because
they think, well, so, and so may
not show up next Sunday.
Well, that’s to their detriment.
That’s between them and God.
The ones that love the truth,
they’ll be there, okay?
So don’t cut short the Word of
God and teaching people because
you’re gonna keep people from
getting to heaven.
Okay, wow, ooh okay here we go.
We each have to work out our own
salvation with fear
and trembling.
The stakes are–they’re as high
in this salvation business as
anything you will ever
experience.
This is more critical than
whether your business goes
bankrupt or not.
Think about that.
This decision is more critical
than anything you will ever deal
with in your entire life because
the stakes are eternal and
they’re forever and ever.
And you know, this life, it’s a
vapor.
It’s here and then gone.
It’s in the grand scheme of
eternity.
Think about eternal 80, 90, 100
years.
The Bible says this life’s just
a vapor guys.
And I’m talking about an eternal
existence.
An eternal judgment.
Can’t go to the lake of fire.
I’m not going to hell.
That’s not an option for me.
No, Lord, tell me what I gotta
do, send me radio programs and
people that will tell me what I
have to do to get to heaven
without fear or favor.
Tell me straight because I wanna
go to heaven.
It’s very important that we have
these foundational truths and
believe them without wavering.
And they continued in, get this,
the apostles doctrine.
Remember, these are the
foundational doctrines that are
listed in Hebrews chapter 6,
verse 2–now the Bible says it
continued in the Apostle’s
doctrine and fellowship.
So beyond that, the Bible says
that they continued in the
Apostles fellowship.
Fellowship is a critical
contributor to our
spiritual life.
In 1 John chapter 1 verse 7, it
says, “But if we walk in the
light, as he is in the light, we
have fellowship one with
another, and the blood of Jesus
Christ his Son cleanses us from
all sin.”
So when light comes to us, we
are all–we all have to make
a decision.
We will either walk in the light
or if we want to do things our
own way, we’ll walk away from
the light.
And have you ever come to a
crossroads in your
life spiritually?
When God’s showing you to do
something and you’re like, “Oh,
if I make that decision, I’ll
have to do–get rid of all this
other stuff and stop doing this
and da da da.”
And you’re wrestling with the
things.
And you said, “Well, if I do
this, there’s gonna be
implications from that, right?”
You either have the choice of
closing your eyes and saying, “I
just don’t believe that,” or you
have the choice of walking in
the light.
If you walk in the light, the
promise is that God will give
you more light and it will
become a more progressive thing
in your life.
God will give you more light.
You walk in the light and man,
you live a Spirit led life.
If you don’t want to walk in the
light and it’s everybody’s
choice, the light will seem to
have become darkness to us.
“Oh, they are not right.
I don’t want anything to do with
that.
Those people, they don’t have a
clue what they believe in.
I don’t want anything to do with
it.
I’m running my own life.”
But if we walk in the light as
he is in the light, we have
fellowship, one with another,
talking about fellowship here.
And once we embrace the truth
and we’re born again, all of us
need to fellowship with other
people who embraced the same
truth and have been born again.
Now, obviously, it doesn’t mean
you got to cut off all your
friends and family and da da da.
No, that’s not what I’m saying.
But this was one of the four
things that they did after being
born again, that–the new
converts and the New Testament
they got in at the right
fellowship and they became part
of the church of Jesus Christ
and they walked in the light and
God continued to lead them into
more light.
That’s the way it works.
When you start walking in the
light, God will show you more,
then you walk in that light and
God will show you more, then
you walk.
And that’s how you’re being led
by the Spirit of God.
It’s the way a Christian should
live.
It’s the way they did in the New
Testament.
But we can’t get here in 2024
and say, “Well, I know, but
those things don’t apply to us.”
No, absolutely they do apply to
us.
They continued steadfastly in
the Apostles’ doctrine,
fellowship, and also the
breaking of bread.
Now, probably we won’t spend
much time here because this
one’s pretty obvious.
But this is where Jesus Christ
inaugurated the Lord’s Supper,
the breaking of bread.
So we’ll talk about it here a
little bit, just a moment and
then we’re–then we’re gonna
spend the rest of the program on
the last one.
And that is prayer because some
people have made prayer, some
kind of like a seance, hocus
pocus mystical, weird thing.
But prayer is absolutely
necessary for the
Christian walk.
And so I’m gonna spend the rest
of the time on that.
