Israeli Defense Minister Meets with Abbas
In the first official high-level meeting between the sides in years, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz and P.A. leader Mahmoud Abbas reportedly discussed “security policy, civilian and economic issues.”
Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett gave the green light for the meeting, but a senior aide was quick to stress that it doesn’t represent a return to the negotiating table.
