What Is Armageddon?
Mountain of Slaughter
The word “Armageddon” appears only once in the Bible. Armies will be gathered together “into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon” (Revelation 16:16). Looking at the origin of the term, “Armageddon,” we see that “Har” means “mountain.” Next is “Gadad,” meaning “cut off,” as in a slaughter. This “Mountain of Slaughter” will be the site of large scale death and destruction.
The valley of Megiddo, part of the plain of Esdraelon, will be the main location of “the battle of that great day of God Almighty” (Revelation 16:14). Historically, it is the site of many military clashes. Barak and Sisera, Gideon and the Midianites, the Philistines and Israel, the Crusaders and the Saracens, Napoleon and his foes, and General Allenby and the Turkish army all fought major battles here.
Jesus will overthrow a gathering of nations at Armageddon in “the latter days” (Daniel 2:28). The Antichrist will be destroyed “with the brightness of his coming” (2 Thessalonians 2:8). After the Great Tribulation, Jesus will return to “judge and make war” (Revelation 19:11), to judge the nations (Matthew 25:31-46) and fight the battle of Armageddon.
All Nations Invade Israel
The “kings of the east” will invade Israel at Armageddon (Revelation 16: 12-16). Zechariah 14:2-4 says that “all nations” will be gathered against Jerusalem at Armageddon. It doesn’t seem feasible that troops from over 190 nations could gather in Israel for the Battle of Armageddon. But a global force, such as the Gulf War coalition, representing all the nations of the world, would fulfill both passages. President George H.W. Bush led the combined forces of the world community to enforce a UN resolution. In the same way, at Armageddon, a coalition of nations, probably under a UN resolution, will gather to invade Israel.
Great armies from the west and east, filled with hostility toward each other, but united in their opposition to the God of Israel, will try to combat the overwhelming, divine power of Almighty God. (Psalm 2:2; Isaiah 34:2; Revelation 17:14). Russia, Iran, Turkey, Libya and Ethiopia are some of the nations named in Ezekiel 38. We strongly agree with Irvin’s teachings. Irvin has the anointing of God to prepare the people for where we are headed and what is taking place at this present time. All should come to Christ for time is running out soon the doors of salvation will close forever. God Bless You All!

I just dont understand all this. My brain has a hard time understanding or comprehending its weird talk like codes an it scares me of corse
cuz i dont understand…. i was brought up in church but neve understood it. if i cant understand it how will i go to heaven or know anything thats going on this stuff is crazy

Yes indeed Doctor. I also agree with Irvin and like He said… It’s not a matter of pre or post tribulation, it is about being right with GOD thru OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Hi.. I wish Dr. Irvine will explain more about the war of Ezekiel chapter 38-39… And then immediately right or after is the rapture of the church..As ptr. chuck smith (the founder of calvary chapel)and others believe that this war would happen before the final 7 year period…and that we are the restraining force and like noah and lot were gone before the destruction in their time..thanks…maybe that was your interpretation of the world war III….God bless your ministry!

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow those who will wait for the brides coming. Jesus will fight our battles for us so we have the responsibility to praise and worship him. Reading the Armageddon the formation of one world government system is at hand so we must be alert.

This website is a blessing along with others i do get my information from. I so long for the day the Lord does come to this world to take us away. I pray daily for his swift coming. I soul longs so much for the day sometimes i feel like i dont want to do anything but sit outside in my back yard and just pray and look up the whole day everyday. I do pray for others who are lost to come to God before that day. Unbelief is so rampant it makes me understand why God had said “will there really be faith found?” Sad. But my soul ever the more longs to see His day.

What if you are wrong about all of this? What if the Book of Revelation is just the fever induced dreaming of an ordinary man with no special connection to God? What if the rapture, tribulation, and the millenium of peace are not real? What if the life you are living right now is the one and only life you will ever have? What if God doesn’t want you to spend that life obsessing over an apocalypse that may never come? What if He wants you to spend that life demonstrating your capacity to love your fellow human beings?
Just a thought. There is little wisdom in unquestioned certitude.

Thank you so much for your teachings! We record your show and watch it every week and visit your website often! My husband and I totally agree with the your teachings on the “rapture” happening at the END of the tribulation, not before. You can’t get around what the scriptures actually say without changing the Word of God. The “traditional” teaching of Rapture before Tribulation we believe is one of the greatest deceits that satan has pulled off. Without studying the bible, comparing scripture to scripture, and llowing the Holy Spirit to lead you, you will fall into the “traditional” Rapture teachings. Unfortunately even the Scofield and Nelson study bibles refer to Rapture before Tribulation. Satan wants us to be tricked into taking the Mark believing that “this can’t be it because we are going to be raptured before this…!” We are trying hard to get the word out on what the “Word” actually says, and being mocked and ridiculed along the way! We will stand on the Word of God! Praise the Lord!
