Washington is given an extension to comply with Real ID Act

Right now, people in Washington may continue to use their state-issued driver’s licenses or IDs to fly anywhere in the United States but that may not be the case in a couple of years.The Department of Licensing (DOL) held a public hearing Wednesday at the Laborer’s International Union Department in Yakima to speak to people about the REAL ID Act.Washington State Department of Licensing Communications Consultant Jessie Knudsen said Washington has been issued an extension to comply with the REAL ID Act until October 2020.
