Turkish PM says Benjamin Netanyahu on par with Paris attackers

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Thursday compared his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu to the Islamist militants who carried out attacks last week in Paris, saying both had committed crimes against humanity.

“Just as the massacre in Paris committed by terrorists is a crime against humanity, Netanyahu, as the head of the government that kills children playing on the beach with the bombardment of Gaza, destroys thousands of homes … and that massacred our (Turkish) citizens on an aid ship in international waters, has committed crimes against humanity,” Davutoglu said at a news conference.

Davutoglu’s comments came after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday blasted Netanyahu’s participation a day earlier in the massive march against terrorism and for free speech in Paris, saying he did not understand how the prime minister “dared go there,” saying – in a reference to Operation Protective Edge – that he should “give an account for the children, women you massacred.”
