Netanyahu hopes Trump can broker peace in Middle East

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu heaped praise on president-elect Donald Trump, as he insisted that his well-publicized disagreements with the current commander in chief were never personal.

“I know Donald Trump. I know him very well. And I think his attitude, his support for Israel is clear,” Netanyahu said in an interview Sunday night on CBS’ “60 Minutes.”

Trump will take office office after a rough relationship between President Obama and Netanyahu, who sparred over the Iran deal — which Israel and the former “Apprentice” host both vehemently opposed.
