Kushner, Netanyahu Discussed Moving US Embassy to Jerusalem

President Donald Trump’s senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner spoke to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about moving the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, The Hill reported Sunday.

Kushner and other top Trump officials attended a meeting on Thursday during a trip to the region to promote peace between Israel and the Palestinians, the Times of Israel reported.

Moving the embassy was a subject that “was brought up by both sides as part of a productive broad conversation about a number of issues,” according to a source.

Trump spoke of moving the embassy to Jerusalem when running for president, a move that could be controversial. In June, he signed a waiver that would keep the embassy in Tel Aviv for at least six months.
