Foreign Affairs Chairman: ‘Jihadist-Driven Terrorism Has Hit America Again’

House Foreign Affairs Chairman Ed Royce put out a statement this afternoon on the terrorist attack that killed at least 50 people at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Fla., saying that “jihadist-driven terrorism has hit America again.”

“My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and all those who lost a loved one today,” said Royce.

“Jihadist-driven terrorism has hit America again–no corner of our country is immune,” he said. “Too many are being drawn to a radical ideology whose central tenet is to kill.  So potent is this message that counterterrorism investigations touch all 50 states.”

“Law enforcement and counterterrorism authorities must work aggressively to discover anyone connected to this slaughter,” he said. “We must unite and eliminate this threat together.”
