Reunification of Jerusalem

50th Anniversary of the Reunification of Jerusalem

Exactly 50 years ago today, the city of Jerusalem was reunited under Jewish control for the first time in 1,897 years.

By a unanimous vote, the US Senate passed a resolution co-sponsored by 17 bipartisan senators to commemorate the 50thanniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem following the liberation of its eastern sector in the 1967 war. The text said: “Jerusalem should remain the undivided capital of Israel in which the rights of every ethnic and religious group are protected,” adding that “there has been a continuous Jewish presence in Jerusalem for 3,000 years.”

You’ll witness a joint celebration of this event between America’s Congress and Israel’s Knesset on today’s edition of End of the Age.
