Possible Carbon Emission Pledge from the Obama Administration

The Obama Administration plans to announce an agreement which will make some serious cuts on the Carbon Emissions from the U.S. after the year of 2020. This was decided in light of the conference held by the United Nations, in Warsaw which discussed emissions of greenhouse gas. This is the most recent move toward a new agreement which will replace the Kyoto Protocol.

At this time, it is not clear how much the United States is willing to pledge. An unnamed US official stated that the White House is still deliberating the specific reductions that the US should place on carbon emissions.

Once the reduction limits are set, they will be imported into the United Nations treaty process after the Warsaw meeting which ends today. Supporters are hopeful that an all-inclusive climate reduction agreement will be announced in a major climate session in Paris in December 2015.

Increase of Children Crossing the US-Mexico Border

There has been an increase within the last two years of young children found crossing the border between the U.S. and Mexico. This surge has created inquiries as to whether or not the Obama Administration’s changes of immigration rules are encouraging this.

Recent statistics state that as many as 24,668 unattended children, which is a major increase from years prior, have made their way across the border. By law, these children were placed in the care of federal agencies.

It was stated by a federal judge in the state of Texas that there have been children taken across the border to their parents who are illegally immigrated. In 2012, it was decided by the administration to give some leeway to young children who came to the U.S.

Israel is Warned Against Settlement Construction

This Thursday Israel was cautioned by the Palestinian Authority to not announce settlement constructions after the release of Palestinian Prisoners. This is what the Israeli government did the past two times after releasing Palestinian captives. The main negotiator for the Palestinians said that they will try to achieve membership in 63 organizations internationally and would take them to international court if Israel announces construction in the settlements this time. The negotiator said that their charge against Israel would be war crimes and offenses of international law.

An official in Israel said that it was expected of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to declare that the West Bank and East Jerusalem will have people living in new houses in the settlements after the third release of Palestinian Prisoners.

There are two more stages of release that are required to take place due to the peace negotiations which have been started by John Kerry, U.S. Secretary of State.

Weather Catastrophes at a Major Low in the U.S.

Finally, Climate Depot states that 2013 has shattered the record for the least tornadoes in history and that the United States has had the least forest fires since 1984. It appears that Mother Nature has pulled a fast one on the Global warming activists who claim that manmade carbon emissions have resulted in all sorts of weather catastrophes; from tornadoes to wild fires and hurricanes. However while carbon emissions are claimed to be at an all-time high, weather catastrophes in 2013 have decreased significantly from previous years to historic lows.

Statistically:

  1. “The number of 100 degree days may ‘turn out to be the lowest in about 100 years of records”.
  2. ‘We are currently in the longest period (8 years) since the Civil War Era without a major hurricane strike in the US”
  3. The amount of tornadoes are at their ‘lowest total in several decades’
  4. The number of wildfires in the US are on pace to be the lowest it has been in the past ten years.
