Iron Man Not a Thing of the Future

For years people have fantasized about the day when robots will not only be used in the world but rule the world.  We’ve probably all seen or at least heard of the movies that play on this idea.  Star Wars shows a futuristic time in a vast universe where robots work alongside of humans.  The former “governator” of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, played in the movie, Terminator, where robots attempted to take over the world.  Movies like iRobot and Eagle Eye show robots trying to out think humans and take control of the human race.  Lastly, the blockbuster hit, Iron Man, shows a man in a robot suit and even building other robots that work independently.  We see this stuff all the time but is it only for the big screen?

There are people who do not see this as a fantasy but as a soon reality.  Other people think the world will one day be run by robots and that a possible rebellion could take place.  I don’t know about the robot rebellion but there are organizations already working on using robots in our world.  Amazon has announced they may begin using drones to deliver products.  Just imagine, you order a book and in a couple of hours a bug like drone flies up to your door and drops off your book.  That sure beats the standard seven to ten business days.  Google has purchased another robot building industry called, Boston Dynamics.  They construct robots that are able to move like humans or animals depending on whether or not it has two or four legs.  They can even build robots that can shift shapes to fit into tight spaces.  NASA has created a humanoid, a robot, bearing a resemblance to Iron Man.  Valkyrie, the bot, stands at six feet two inches and functions as a man would. Valkyrie can walk, climb a ladder, and even drive.  How trippy would it be to see a robot next to you while driving?!

This robot idea is not a thing of the future but it is happening today.  We don’t have human-like robots walking around and participating in society but we very well could soon.  The Bible doesn’t talk about robots being on the earth although it does refer to helicopters and jet airplanes.  Although robots aren’t mentioned, the last days are and again, robots aren’t included.  I’m not saying robots won’t be used in society soon but I am saying there is no hope in a “Terminator” coming to get you, so relax.
