Did E.T. Really Phone Home?

Are there Others Outside of This Earth?

By Anthony Vandagriff

On June 11, 1982 a film was released titled “E.T.” It told the story of an alien that made its way to earth, interacted with humanity, and went home. One of the famous lines from this movie was, “E.T. phone home.” I saw this movie as a kid and that’s really all it was to me but some people are serious about this. The thought of aliens or extra-terrestrials existing in the universe or living on this planet is something embraced by a numerous amount of people. You may be questioning this yourself as you read this. Luckily there’s proof aliens exist and everyone knows that, right? Well, we’ll see about that.

There have been many so called, “flying saucer” sightings. Some of you have probably heard of the Roswell incident and maybe have seen the video of the operation of the alien found. Many of these claims have been proven to actually be military cover ups or weather balloons. There are also drones that are used that look very different from air crafts we commonly see. Dealing with the Roswell video, the special effects artist who created the alien confessed that it was a hoax sometime after the video came out. Plus, the whole “flying saucer” deal was a big misunderstanding. Kenneth Arnold claimed he saw UFOs but he never said they looked like flying saucers. He said they were crescent shaped and flew erratically like a saucer if you were to skip it across water. So when a bunch of other people saw “flying saucers,” maybe they just wanted to join the party. Other people say the pyramids in Egypt are absolute proof of an unknown advanced life form because men could not have built such vast creations. On the contrary, God literally had to come down to stop the unified people from building the Tower of Babel in Genesis 11. God had to confound the people by making them speak different languages because nothing would be impossible for them. Another controversial passage is in Genesis 6 when the sons of God had relations with the daughters of men.

The assumption is, the sons of God in this passage refer to angels but there are some who think angels are aliens. The problem is Jesus said angels can’t marry and the whole “relations” part is how the marriage is consummated or made official. Basically if angels can’t marry, they can’t have “relations” which means Genesis 6 is not talking about angels. Like I mentioned, some view angels as aliens but that is a misconception. Angels exist and the Bible shows proof of them but the Bible does not show extra life forms flying to earth from outer space. Along with that, when we get down to it, there is no evidence to support the existence of aliens. Unfortunately, the friendly alien, E.T., isn’t real; he was just part of someone’s imagination portrayed in a film. I guess E.T. didn’t actually phone home since E.T. didn’t actually exist. At least it made for a good movie.
