Read more: For now, pastors still can oppose sin.
Its such a shame that many pastors do not oppose sin even while they can. In the name of love, mercy, and forgivness many congregations just sweep the sin under the carpet. I have been employed at different congregations and I have seen this happen time and time again behind the scenes. When I try to help, they scoff, and then I leave. In the congregations that do this, they will not read The Book of Jude, because The Lord through Jude tells of how foolish such a practice is. And they go on reading John 3:16 over and over and over. Taking one verse (or having a favorite verse) and resting on it leads to deception and destruction.
