The Coming Middle East Peace Agreement

A Two-State Solution

Senior Israeli government officials have reached out in recent weeks to advisers close to former secretary of state Hillary Clinton and real estate tycoon Donald Trump to begin lobbying for support in fear that U.S. President Barack Obama will join an international peace push in his final days in office.

Israel is concerned Obama will try to pass a United Nations Security Council resolution on the two-state solution during what is known as the “lame duck” period – the two months between elections in November and the new president’s inauguration on January 20. Officials consider this period particularly concerning, as Obama would no longer need to consider whether such action would complicate the electoral prospects of the Democratic candidate for president, likely to be Clinton.

An international summit will convene on Friday to discuss the form that a final Middle East peace agreement should take. This ongoing discussion is of particular prophetic significance since an agreement concerning the Israeli-Palestinian conflict would be the greatest prophetic fulfillment in the last 2,000 years.
